who chooses?

hi im 27 weeks pregnant with a baby boy and my partner doesnt agree 2 any names tho has no ideas himself! just wondering if any mums decided 2 choose the name and put their foot down. and any name suggestions welcome xx

we chose a name between us, then we split up and i realised i didnt really like it!! so i decided on a name myself - well, with these lovely ladies' help didnt actually tell him cos i thought i had plenty of time, but she took me by suprise and he was greeted by the ambulance men asking if he was ella's daddy he thought she was called amy!!

my o/h is abit layed back about baby names well about everything really lol so what eva i say he seems to say he likes too, but if there was a name i really really liked and he didnt i think i would have to put my foot down, my cousin did it with her bf when they had there girls and he says he loves there names now and they couldnt be anything else. my auntie also waited till after the birth so her o/h had seen what she had to go through then he let her have the name she wanted at the end of it lol

i decided my last LO's name and fortunately OH liked it! I let him choose her middle name but gave him a few suggestions that I liked.

This time was easier because we both liked the same first name and are having our dad's names in the middle

We've both got similar taste in names so we're pretty much sorted. If I loved a name and he hated it I wouldn't make him have it. What names are you looking at? We've got Logan or Noah for a boy, girls names are a bit more undecided but we like Yves, Aoife, Kaila, Taylor and quite a few more! My DD wants to call it Emily for a girl but I'm putting my foot down on that one!

ohh its so hard! lol. ma little girl was nameless 4 5 days and we both wrote down 5 names each and the only one that was similar was amy (aimee 4 me) which i thot was 2 short so added my middle name amy-lee oh lets me chose everythin 4 baby except name but i would like 2 choose a name b4 he cums! @helen - i like zack, kiran, toby liam lots n lots but he wont agree , kaila was ma girls name this time and last just spelt a bit different (kayla) but i agree with u emily isnt the nicest lol. i really like logan 2, very scottish! r u goin 2 find out wot ur having?? @ lanny - my oh thinks childbirth is easy and im overreactin hahahaha! so i dont think he would give me the sympathy vote , all men should take a leaf out of ur oh book lol. @ me my girls n i - ella is a beautiful name!! @ mervs mum - do u have a girl and pregnant with a boy??

We are going to find out what we're having and are planning a 4D scan as well to double check (if they are able to tell us)! I like Toby. I say give him a baby name book, a pen and paper and tell him to write down any names that appealto him and then you can compare! My DD is called Summer and it took me 10 hours after her birth to name her-nothing i'd picked out before hand suited her!

haha ill give that a try altho i know hes been lookin on here and at the book, c if he will write sum down. summer is a lovely name, my best friend is due in may and is callin her little girl summer grace!

I'm having to put my foot down with DH. He won't refuse a name that I suggest but he kinda turns his nose up at it then won't suggest any others! It got really annoying until I finally said that I had chosen babies name and now he seems ok with it lol. Maybe that name won't suit her when she's actually born but for now i'm sticking with it x

that sounds exactly like ma partner!! he just squishes his face up then i moan at him n he says he dont like it! i wouldnt mind if he actually gave sum suggestions. think he has a few names in mind tho doesnt want 2 say them till hes born cos he knows ill tell everyone haha. he wouldnt agree 2 let me name him at all hes so stubborn. then again we aint married i could register him in secret 2 be mean lmao. can i ask sesame wot ur name is 4 ur little girl? im so nosey xxx

You should tell him to write down five of each - when he realises he can't he wil be eager to hear your suggestions! I know my OH said no to one i loved and asked him seriously today and he said yes!! Men!
