Bringing up teenage boys or teenage girls?

My lad has been easy so far, he's very focused on getting his training finished this June and then doing another 2 year course so he can teach in the future :D

He is car mad but I think I'm lucky, he doesn't drink, smoke and isn't daft so I think I've been very lucky

I know the girls are harder work, you have the added thing when they get pregnant? I'm really trying to instill in their heads, careers first and babies later...MUCH later  Perhaps because I was so young

Anyway do you think you will/do worry more about your girls or boys and for what reasons?

At the monent i am finding Jake hardwork but I am dreading katie as she is a mini me and a stuborn so and so

Generally we see more boys than girls through work so I think girls stay of of trouble with the rozzers more often, but I think that towards their paretns the girls seem to be far harder work. I know when I was 14 a switch flicked in my head and I just turned into a royal pain in the arse, going out and literally doing everything I shouldn't be doing. I stayed that way til I was about 17 and settled down with a bloke for a while then after we split up the phase seemed to have past. I remember though I gave my parents a really, really hard time. I remember getting dragged out of nightclubs and everything by them :oooo:
At the time though I clearly remember thinking that this behaviour was perfectly acceptalbe :shakehead:

I was terrible which is probably why I'm so nervous :oooo:

I remember at the time my mum saying "Jayne, I hope you have a daughter exactly like yourself, so then you will know how it feels". I seriously hope that doesn't happen.
Don't think there's a great deal you can do about rebellioin though, if they are rebellious with most things then the likelyhood is that they will be about ground rules etc as a teenager.
I know I had the sense to put myself on the pill when I decided to - y'know with boys but I don't think my mum knew for aaages.

I asked my dad and he said girls give you more attitude (hormones i expect) and cause more worry in terms of when they get boyfriends and go out in the dark. He says with boys you have one dick to worry about but with girls you have thousands of dicks to worry about

He said the worry with boys is when they go out drinking, if they get beat up or stabbed etc. And he said boys are messy and smelly  But in the grand scheme of things he said that neither are worse than the other, you worry about both but about different issues. He said he thinks he has been lucky with the 4 kids he has as none of us have ever been much bother but i was deffinately the worst for attitude ha ha xx
