Which is best formula?

Which milk formula would you recommend? and how long does a tub of powder last normally for a newborn?? xxx

abigail was breastfed exclusively for the first 2 weeks but she was too hungry so i put her straight onto sma gold she went thru a tin every week n half now shes on sma white n goes thru a tin a week but iu still breast feed aswell x

there's so many brands its really confusing which is best! i was going to go with sma gold but iv read that it gave a few babies constipation

yeh ive heard that too, every baby is different tho hun. abigail was fine on it and thats what they were promoting at my hospital. u can only try ur baby on which ever u wanna use and if he/she doesnt like u you can always change it dnt worry im sure u will find the right one for baby, i wouldnt buy any before u have the baby, they have all the brands in the hospital and u can chose whilst ur in there, unless ur havin a home birth n then in that case id just buy a small tin at first x

I use aptamil as I breastfed for 6 weeks and gave her one fomula top up at night and aptamil is apparently the formula that is closest to breast milk. I now exlusively use aptamil and she is doing great on it. No stomach problems etc

I switched to formula at 6 weeks, when my milk dried up. We used Aptamil then changed to Hipp Organic which she seemed to prefer.

i don't think there is a 'best' forumla. My hospital recomended aptamil as i has both breastfeeding and bottle feeding. But i found that it didn't agree with her. We swapped to cow and gate and she was loads better.


You can buy ready mixed cartoons. i found these great for leaving at my mums!! instead of doing a straight swap, i brought these to see if she was better on this!

i dont think any formula is better then another, its which suits your baby best. Harriet is on boob half the day but formula the rest. we were using hipp but seemed to make her reflus worse so nows shes on cow and gate comfort and its alot better.

but ive decided today to go back to exclusive boob as shes sleeping better at night
