Hi - for any of you that are going to use a Tens machine, can you tell me if you will start using it a soon as the contractions begin or will you wait until you are finding them hard to manage?

And do you put the pads on your back or on your belly?

You put the pads on your back, 2 on the back of your pelvis and 2 half way up the back. Have you got the instructions with your tens to show you were to place them properly?

I will start using my tens machine once the contractions start getting stronger.

Rose those instructions I sent you should have a diagram of where to put the pads on your back. I'm planning on using it as soon as I get contractions. It says its best used in early labour.

Lol, good job I asked about the back or belly!

I used the quick summary guide on the instructions Pinky - never looked at a diagram! Must do that tomorrow.

As above, and start on a low setting then crank it up as the contractions get more painful. Great in early labour and gives you something to concentrate on x

Start in early labour and just increase the intensity of it as the ccontractions get worse.. I keep meaning to drop into my birthing centre and ask if they have one I can borrow ..

Cosmic and Beth, does it feel the same on your back as it does when you test it on your arm, its a horrible feeling haha.

Kinda but it feels different when you use it in pain iykwim x

It doesnt shock you as much on your back as on other parts..It more relaxing rather than shocking as it is on your arm etc :D
