when to give baby rice

Finleys sjust started having a little bit of rice as hes started waking through the night and drinking milk like its going out of fashion, but i cant remember when to give him rice, do i start at breakfast and then once hes had 1 meal a week start giving 2 and eventually 3? and how much roughly should i be giving him? hes having about 4 spoonfuls at the minute, and seems quite happy with that, but im only giving it once a day, i dont know if i should be giving him a little bit 3 times a day or just once

at his age I would say if you do want to give a bit of rice just do it once a day, as his main nutrients need to come only from milk in the first 6 months.... any more rice and he may get too full for his milk and constipated.

midwife told me not to feed a baby any foods except milk untill it was 4 months ... my friend whos baby is now 2 said its changed from 4 months to 6 months now it has been researched and found that a babies digestive system isnt strong enough to tollerate foods untill after 6 months..how many oz of milk is you baby having? i would talk to your midwife about her opinions, i think its a bit early to be feeding him, but you are the mummy and you know what he needs.

i understand the guidelines but also know my baby, and dont think a little baby rice will affect his digestive system, my other 2 had rice at 12wks
