When does morning sickness usually start?

It's different, some women don't suffer at all, some do and some get it slightly. Some women experience morning sickness late in the evenings, some only when they smell certain foods, some periodically during the day etc.

I think if you were to suffer from it, around the 6 week mark is a general starting point (from what I've heard)

Absolutely right. :)

For instance, I had reasonably bad sickness - it wasn't just in the morning - it was all day.

Whenever I ate something - I was sick. If I ate too fast, too much or too rich a food, I was sick. If I ate different things, I was sick. I lost so much weight in the first trimester that I didn't even need to buy maternity clothes until 7.5months!

A friend of mine didn't get morning sickness at all. Not a jot of it.

Another friend got it purely in the mornings, but found ginger biscuits to be the ideal trick.

For most people morning sickness fades away after the first few weeks. For others, like me, i last for the entire pregnancy.

Each woman and each pregnancy is different. So even if you had no morning sickness with one pregnancy, you could get it with the second and vice versa. :)

I didn't get any at all. THe only slight queasiness I got was around 8 weeks when I was hungry before breakfast! I was really worried going for my 12 week scan that there wouldn't be anything there as I'd not had any preg symptoms as such!

I had nausea throughout the 2WW and just before my BFP. Smelling olives made me sick, and also drinking Iced Tea and Fruit Juice aswell. Now I get slight nausea during the day.

its different for everyone, some dont get it others get it right the way through.
i had it only about 3 times, the first being weeks before i found out i was pg but didnt know thats what it was

OH said to me 'its not morning sickness is it' and i said of course not!!

well my sense of smell changed first...then around 6 weeks I started feeling sick in the mornings which went away when I ate something. Then it just got worse and worse...Now the question is when will it STOP!!! :wall:

I'm not looking forward to sickness! Me and sickness do NOT go well together at all! LOL

I finding if i eat chocolate is leaves a horrible taste in my mouth and makes me want to be sick.

may be a blessing but i miss chocolate

I got it terribly with my son, and felt sick all the time until about 17 weesk then it stopped and with this little angel I hardly got any, I had a bad bout of being ill one weekend and that was it and apart from when i went food shopping without any brekky it would catch me in sainsburys!

That was it.
Everyone is different.

Hmmm im wondering whether morning sickness can be to do with the sex of the bub what do you ladies reckon?

x

Everyones right its different for all, i never had had morning sickness, i think i threw up once in my whole pregnancy bcos it was reali hot last summer! Even at the scan i didnt believe i was pg bcos i felt no diffrent until i looked like an elephant

my friends had 1 of each and was exactly the same with both :D

I had a boy and had no sickness at all, I felt naseous at times but wasn't actually sick.

mine lasted about 2 weeks and was mainly at night, with tummy cramps, I was around 6 weeks then. I'm only 4 weeks now but feel the same so I even could be 9 weeks  didn't have a proper period last month

First pregnancy. Never had any form of sickness what so ever.
