see the midwife again? I haven't seen one since the 6 week check and Ted is 8 months?
Do they call or do you have to make an appointment?
I am Jemima confuddleduck!!!!

Some places Anna send out appointments automatically others are not so bothered about them having them and youl havw to ring them and arrange it yourself.

We have to arrange it ourselves here.

Thanks hun, i will ask today, its just weird if i had been feeling crap, which luckily i haven't, i would have felt totally abandoned. Not much impressed with mat care here

we don't see ours beyond 10 days after birth... they hand over to the HV's - i had one HV visit 11 days after connor was born and that was it!

i called up and made the 8 month HV appointment at our local health centre; i think they'd have called me if i hadn't got in there first, but they were running really behind on their bookings.

I had an 8 month check yesterday! Although i was supposed to have it on Friday but my appointment arrived in the post 2 hours after i missed the door! Lol

we were handed over to HV after 10 days. we have a 6 mth and a 1yr check but in some areas its an 8 mth check. they are then checked at 2 yrs. i received my appointment through the post for all of my childrens apointments. i can also catch up with my HV when i go to clinic to get my LO's weighed. DD has had weight issues so i se my HV very regularly.

are you supposed to get an 8 month check? the last check was a 6 week check, after that i got appointments for vaccinations but nothing else

Oh didnt know there was an 8 month check!! lol suppose i should get that sorted pritty soon then

gymbabeliz, I was told when James was getting weighed at about 8 months that they stopped doing them in Scotland because of resources, so maybe that's why no ones said anything! Maybe some of the other scots on the forum could confirm (or not!)

It's standard here for an 8 month. Then we're not seen again til she has her 12 and 13month jabs.

We have an 8 week check, then can go to the clinic for weighing as much or as little as you want every week. Then there's a 7-9 month check and that's it as far as I can tell until they start school! I can request a 2 year check but only if I'm concerned about his development.

I actually tried to go to the baby clinic today but it was closed due to maintenance work. I hadn't been there for three months

I asked the reception if there was a 8 month check and here they don't do one, never mind.

I go to see the HV every 2 weeks but didn't go today as we are all ill. I'll take Finlay next week though :D

I don't know anything about an 8 month appointment (Scotland too) but if I was to have one then I would have had something through the post as thats what happened with all hhis jags :D

yep that's what I was told as well. No 8 month check-up, no 20 week scan  I could go on a rant about our crappy health service but I'd be here all night

I got a 20 week scan - some areas suck though. Might have the next one in Stirling again incase where we are doesn't do 2 scans

Haven't taken Becky to be weighed for a while but will do it this week or next week and will ask then.

My friends in Glasgow and she never got a 20 week scan either so I'd stick to Stirling.
