Im 31 weeks and MW seemed concerned that bump was still lying sideways. Said I'd have to go to hosp for a scan if it hasn't turned by 36weeks. Seems a bit odd to me, got lots of time before I'm due...I wouldn't want to hang upside down for 9weeks either!

Most MW's dont even start to check the fetal postion until 34 weeks.........so its unusual she is telling you she is concerned. Your baby has plenty of time to turn yet!

My baby showed a breech position when I went for a scan at 32 weeks (growth scan as they thought he was too small)......he is still breech now, but still has another week and a half to turn :D

A few babies on here turned at the very last minute so anything is possible.

my FIRST baby was breech right up until beyond 36 weeks!!! apparently first babies *usually* snuggle into position really really early and even engage at about 35 weeks. but not mine, lil bugger was breech until i was nearly full term! she turned at 36+4 i think it was. and then she didnt fully engage until i was already in labour. i thought it was because i am only small (my hips are only 31 inches) and she had a relatively large head (35cm) so it probably was too tight a squeeze for her :)

My baby has been lying in the same position since about 30 weeks! Head down and ready to go - just not going anywhere naughty baby!

alice was the same and stayed like it.

was told the other day this little lad is head down and back to back so im hoping he stays head down (but not back to back - i don't want another NEEDAPOO baby  !)

Mine is also breech at the moment but I suppose it has plenty of time to turn, Fingers crossed !

hmm, I've had mixed response from family and on here, surely every baby is different. bump turns a lot just hasn't gone for a head down position yet. If he/she hasn't turned by 36weeks I might get a bit concerned but to be honest it suits me at present since my pelvis has been so sore already with SPD or whatever the new name is (something girdle pain). I can only imagine it will be extremely sore when bump turns with the added pressure, suspect I might have to take early maternity if bump turns too soon.

Thanks ladies.

Mine has been head down since 20odd weeks and hopefully it will stay like it, although at the moment its back is tucked into my side so I need him/her to turn around a bit but not too bothered at the moment. Knowing my luck he/she will change its mind and move position between now and my due date

Baby was breech at 21 week scan and I then had 2 private scans at 28 weeks (5 days apart) and she was transverse (but pointing a different way each time!) at both of those. At 31 weeks the midwife said she was head down (although free and did have a tendency to keep going a bit wonky!) So I'd say she has only been properly head down since she started to engage at about 34 weeks.

I was breech still last week - with my other son he turned the week before he was born so I am still hopeful for this little one :D
