I went at 6 weeks but they didn't really do anything, just took my blood pressure and that was it. They told me to book in to see a midwife at 8 weeks.
Congratulations on your pregnancy
Last time I went to the docs they just gave me a pack with the numbers of the community midwives in and told me to arrange an appointment with "my" midwife.
So this time I just rang my midwife direct.
I would go to the docs whenever you want - there's no harm in going early and getting to know your midwife and have he opportunity to ask any questions you might have.
I spoke to my doc over the phone to check the long term meds i was on were safe and he said to book an appointment with the midwife at 8 weeks so i had my first appointment yesterday.. Loads to take in so id take your other half with you if you can.
Go see your GP anytime but they won't do much this early at all. Usually you have a booking in with your MW from 8 weeks onwards. Nothing to do before then anyways. Just relax and enjoy your pregnancy
I rang my docs and told them when I found out at 4 weeks and was told to ring back in a couple of weeks. I saw the doc at 6 weeks who just said congratulations and make a midwife appointment on your way out for about 8 weeks which I did.
Unfortunately my MW didn't turn in that date so I never saw her and it's taken me until yesterday to chase her up and get an appointment for my booking in.
I had a small bleed at 6+5 and had to have a scan at the EPAU and they booked my 12 week scan while I was there so it wasn't desparate to see my MW.
If you haven't had a scan booked then you would need to get a booking in appointment with your MW for about 8 weeks or so
