When did you get paid your accrued holiday?

Hi all,

I'm currently on maternity leave from a full time job and aim to go back part time in august. I know that i accrue holiday on a fulltime basis from Jan until i go back but not sure when this would get paid? would it just be on the end or monthly?

I am getting paid all my accrued holiday for the year in December as this is the year end for the company i work for when it comes for holiday.

If i were you i would ask how they are going to deal with your holiday. You could tag it on the end of your maternity leave and have extra time off if you wanted to that.

Thats what im planning to do but they would still have to physically pay me for it wouldnt they? I would be on SMP at that point.

Yeah if you took the holiday at the end of your maternity leave you would be paid as normal.

So i would go from SMP, to full pay for the holdiay entitlement, to part time wage?

Hmm i would say that you would accrue your holiday based on what you normally work (so fulltime) therefore should get holiday based on that up until you return part time.

Hopefully someone will come along and confirm that for me, but from reading about it thats the idea i get.
