As title really!

Lucy stilll not any closer to holding the weight of her head, HV and doc both commented on the 'lolling' and now I'm starting to wonder myself!

Been to see HV today and they checked Lucy over. Firstly they did the pull up from laying down and said she had a slight sag but nothing to be concerned about. But, they then lifted her up and saw the full extent of the sag then and said that it was a bit much for her age so I'm to take her back next week to be checked again, mainly to see if it's improving I guess! :(

Angel has always had a strong neck so she was very young, but my nephew is 2 weeks younger and still can't hold his head up. He gets very frustrated and cries. Breaks my heart coz he's such a tiny little cutie.

thomas has been able to do it from a few weeks everyone would comment on how strong he is
im sure she will do it in her own time hun
xx

Took a good while for Becky to be able to "rescue" her head if it fell forward - was probably about 12 weeks before we saw an improvement. She can now hold it fine if she's held horizontally but still hates tummy time unless I lie underneath her! HV and GP said she's fine so I wouldn't worry - chances are she will wake up one morning and will be holding it up as if she's been doing it since birth

caden is being referred to paediatric review at the hospital next week for exactly the same thing.his head lolls allover the place unless hes really paying attention.,he cant hold it up properly.HOWEVER hes been doing baby massage and wiggle and giggle and loads of tummy time, sit ups and baby gym sessions for a month now and everyone can see the improvement.he still cant totally control his head and movemnts a bit jerky.I think babies all develop at different stages and every childs different, they usually all get there in the end.try not to worry hun, maybe Lucy is just like caden, content and lazy :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Connie's had good head control from a few weeks after birth - strangers used to comment on it.

I think it varies from child to child. I wouldn't worry too much unless your HV is concerned?

THanks for replies!

HV has been concerned for few weeks now. They said she has a rather large head circumference, so perhaps she has more weight to hold...I don't know!!

ahh thats what they said to me,caden is a big lad so has to do a lot more work :rotfl: I mean hes 17lb 8 already n hes only 16wks.if your worried then go to your gp as they are the ones who make the referrals.my gp was the one who originally picked it up then passed me to HV to monitor for a few weeks with suggestions on things to do and then i had to go bk to the gp who reffered caden to the hospital.i think it was only a couple of days before his appt came thru.

Soulem, your baby must have a big brain so she must be extra clever :D

Our LO has a small head and doesn't weigh much and has had a really strong head from very early on. All babies develop differently so don't worry xxx

I always think Tally has a little head and tbh i've never had to be very careful about holding it when picking her up etc, shes very good.

My neice however took a long time to support her own head, it depends on each baby i think.

the funniest thing is when she has tummy time, she lifts her head a little but mainly tries to crawl so her bums always in the air and her heads stoping her moving lol
