Sorry ladies, all I seem to do is moan atm! I'm just after a little advice/reassurance really...

The past few days I've been unable to get comfortable. I expect this, I am, after all, carrying excess weight, have a baby squashed up in my tummy etc etc Yesterday and today I have a terrible back, it's my lower back and going down into my bum, it also radiates round into my hips/pelvis. I feel a lot of pressure pressing down into my pelvis, it's like a throbbing in my 'lady bits' and I'm quite sticky down there. I was walking round the house at 4am it was so painful.

Is this normal? I assume it is? I want a bit of reassurance really. I'm just off to get a bath as it seems to be the only place I'm comfy at the moment

it sounds normal to me, sounds like baby moving down and getting in position etc! i found it uncomfortable and used to get really bad pressure on the lady area and sharp pains that made me wince!! but you know your own body and if it feels really painful don't be afraid to call your midwife or nhs direct for advice theres no such thing as wastining time and they will be happy to check you over at the antenatal unit...better to be safe.

Sounds as though Sydnee's moving down! :cheer: I bet she's engaged or something

And you're not a whinge bum you silly moo!!! lol

Thanks ladies. She was 2/5ths palpable last week, so maybe she's 'popping' down a bit more?

i thought it was normal, I just wanted to check really....it's all very well the MW's saying "If anything seems out of the ordinary give us a call" But when you've never done this before :rotfl: You could tell me it's normal for your lady bits to turn purple and sprout flowers and I'd be none the wiser.....

Quite excited maybe, as I can't seem to grow anything....but none the wiser :rotfl:

When they thought Evie was engaged (she wasn't, but she was head down and pretty low), my fundal height measured spot on which hadn't happened before. Maybe that's why your fundal height is low? Because she's so far down that the measurement between your pubic bone and the top of your uterus is going to be less? Does that make sense?! It does to me

2/5ths palpable is really great by the way!! The MW yesterday told me Evie was 3/5ths palpable (Sydnee is further in your pelvis that Evie is) and she said that in 1st babies, if they are 3/5ths in or further, then they usually keep going down and don't pop out again so our theory sounds plausable! :cheer:

xx
