whats good for a sore throat?

whats good for easing a REALLY sore throat?
Its actually hurting to breathe in as its burning my throat! My glands are well up too.....I need something that will work as I cant concentrate on anything properly!

Paracetamol but it sounds like you might need to see the doctor for some antibiotics. Also oraldene mouthrinse is good for throat infections.

thanks. Just taken some paracetamol. I will have a hunt for the mouthwash in my lunch break (yeah - cos Im working SO hard right now )
Will go to Drs on Monday if it hasnt cleared up at all.

When i got really ill around christmas i lived on hot water, lemon and honey

Seemed to help loads

lol, I was thinking of sperm too!!
ut in all seriousness - I used to suffer really bad with sore throats and tonsilitis in my early twentites.

Best think was to get some soluble aspirin and gargle it, it helps numb it a little. Then swallow. You can take paracetamol too. I used to gargle aspirin, wait two hours, take some paracetamol, then two hours later gargle more aspirin. I continued with this two hourly cycle of painkillers all day....doc said it was ok to alternate because they are different meds, so you wont overdose.

Sucking on ice pops was nice too. A bit of instant relief.

ive heard that gargling salt water helps to, but if you prefer spunk.. hey why not give it ago, im sure your OH will be more than willing to oblige! i know mine would haha!

I had really bad tonsillitus once and the best thing I found was the vicks throat spray. It really helped and brought the swelling down.
