ok thought i would start this up i know in the long run the terry nappies are best but it just seems like such a fortune to start off with and really expensive and so much more work like having to constantly wash them all the time and having to change your LO more often especially in teh summer weather.

i use disposable ones as its just so easy to go to the shop and buy them then put them in the bin but my MIL still says everyone should use the terry ones like they did in her day

Weestar-Rebecca gives me enuf washing as it is without washing dirty nappies too. I honestly was shocked at how much "baby washing" u get. I go thru 20+ bibs a day (reflux).

weestar do what's best and works for you, don't feel pressurised into anything, at the same time consider all options.

I am too lazy, I love the disposables!

i thought about using reusable but the starting out costs are about £300 i think for the packs which isnt bad as they can be reused and in the long run could be cheaper but thats a lot to pay out in one go. I use disposables but think the council should have some sort of way of getting rid of them like incinerate them then the enviroment thing about taking years to break down would not be so bad. they could give people with babies nappy bins that they collect once a fornight or something However go with what you want nevermind what she thinks she has to also remember in her day that disposables were prob very expensive hence the reason for terry nappies

i have been using disposable ones for both adele and colby and i couldnt go to terry ones now  i am also too lazy and it is bad enough with the amount of washing i do a day never mind all those nappies aswell.

it is alot to fork out in one go just wonderd what people think who are using the terry ones

I used disposables for 4 months and was shocked at how many I get through. We have a fortnightly collection of rubbish and by that time my bin was overflowing, that just from me, DH and Ella being in nappies. I changed at 4 months and haven't looked back. They are so easy! My fil wanted me to use terries (he said so when I was pregnant) but I imagined buckets of pooey nappies soaking, but it's nothing like that.

I use Tots Bots with velcro mainly, but also have some stuffables and some wee notions. This website is good www.babykind.co.uk . I've spent around £200 in total and bought mine new. They have a really good resale value aswell if you don't plan to reuse them for your other babies. I have enough nappies to last me for around 4 days, I use a disposable at night as I have so many left. Ella is just as dry with a tots bots, fleece liner and a wrap as she is with pampers (the pampers are actually worse at the moment as her size 4s keep leaking).

Basically when my nappy bin is full (a swing bin from Tescos that cost me about £3, a few drops of lavender essential oil in the bottom keeps it smelling sweet) I just bung everything in the washing machine on a 60 degree wash. If it's just weey nappies then they go in on a 40 degree with some napisan (kills bacteria at temps as low as 40 degrees). If you don't like the thought of rinsing out pooey nappies then you can get disposable liners that go inside the nappy, but I find fleece ones keep Ella bone dry and TBH her poo isn't too bad smell wise.

If you are interested in using resusables then feel free to PM me if you want anymore info. It was actually Hillbilly (Jo) that converted me :)

so me bein a bit thick, but what do you do with the pooy nappies? Do you use a nappy sack and pick in the poo and throw it away? but what if it is a runny poo?????? sounds messy? but I suppose u dont know if uv not tired but I think I am too lazy aswell.

Im using disposables. (I really cant spell tonight)
We did think about the re usuables but when we moved house we were put on those water meters and someone told me that washing would turn out to be more expensive. Dont kow how true that is. Anyone else have this problem?
