What You Eat Influences Sex of Baby

Saw this on the news this morning...

I've always eaten breakfast and I'm having a girl!

I'm not convinced either. I was on a diet both times I concieved (with James I didn't realise I was pregnant till 11 weeks, so was on the slim fast plan till then!! )
I always eat breakfast cereals though.

I think it's more down to genetics and luck than anything else :)

Hi,

I guess when I conceived my girls I was pretty light and didn't eat much breakfast (almost never have cereal but I do eat bananas for breakfast - nearly every day!!); also was very careful about calories and I doubt I went over 2,200 most days. There again, I know much heavier women who have had girls, and really skinny ones who have had all boys (have a friend who has 3 boys and I don't think she eats as much as me!!!)

This time when I conceived I was slightly heavier and eating more (although not sure that I go above 2,000 most days) - it'll be interesting to see what this one is.

I do think it is down to a lot of other things too.

I was on holiday when I conceived and probably eating the most healthily I ever have... so yeah maybe?!

But I can't see that for such a small sample size (wasn't it about 80 women?) and a result of about 55%:45% that there's anything to report really. That's fairly likely you'd get those sorts of percentages anyway.

Now had it been 5000 women, then maybe there would be something in it.

Never had breakfast since I was a kid (just can't eat in the morning), don't really like bananas, and had a very little appetite before being pregnant,,,
,,, and I am expecting a boy

:rotfl: :rotfl:
I was on holiday when i conceived and it was a cruise ship with 24 hour all inclusive food so i doubt my calorie intake was low.... haha

Hey Sylvie

I notice youre due on your birthday, me too!! Well kind of.

My dates are really confusing me (you might have seen my thread earlier). So my scan said EDD of 21st May but my MW and other medical staff have been going by number of weeks, I will be 40 weeks on 19th May and my birthday is 20th May, so im not far off my birthday.

How do you feel about LO coming on your birthday? I really don't want to share (selfish I know), I really love my birthday and I would like to have separate birthdays because I would always be organising LO's birthday rather than enjoying my own if they turned out to be the same.

I don't feel like I'm having a birthday this year, normally Im in countdown mode and thinking about or organising a night night out with friends but this year all I can think about is Baby and my birthday has taken a back seat.

Hi Charlie
I feel about the same as you now,,, at first I was really pleased about it (one chance out of 365!) but then after weeks of hearing my OH saying to everyone that it would be great as he is so bad at remembering dates I feel I want to keep May 6th to myself! Yes I am as selfish as you are :rotfl:
Last week a friend was telling me "nobody would remember your birthday, it would become baby's birthday", and I think that's partly right!
On the other hand, many people are telling me "it would be the loveliest present you could ever have",,, what? spending my birthday in horrible pain in a hospital room
