Okay so i bought a open ended ring sling from the buy and sell section. Morgan loves it and falls asleeps and goes all dozy in it like its really cosy for him. BUT i spend all day readjusting it, the fabric seems to loosen itself every few mins and i have to keep adjusting it. What am i doing wrong. It has two big rings and i am fastening it like you do a belt. Also is the tail meant to be about 5 foot long?

Someone help, or i'm gonna give up!??? :wall:

Tail goes through both rings, back over the first and under the second - I think that's right!

Is it a bought ring sling or a home made one? It sounds like the fabric isn't gripping enough. I don't use ring slings, though I do have rings that I used with a wrap before I learned how to tie a rebozo slip knot, so I'm not 100% certain in what I'm saying here. If it's a bought wrap from a known company there must be a way to stop it slipping so have a look at the link above. If it was made by a mum there is a chance that the rings are the wrong size. For thinner fabrics it's better to use smaller rings.
5' seems like an awful long tail - you must be tripping up over it!

I recommend having a look at thebabywearer.com. It is a very supportive and friendly forum and there is a board especially for ring slings. If you posted to ask in there I bet you'd have lots of mums giving you proper answers within an hour.

It is a bundle with love sling. So a proper make, i just dont know what to do with it. I cant open the link either as it crashed my pc twice. :wall:

Anyone know if you can tie it in a knot to stop it slipping, Morgan loves it so i want to overcome this problem. :cheer:

This may be of help...

Thanks for that one Matt, your lovely lady has just emailed me the exact same thing hehe :rotfl:

It appears that i am doing everything correctly, the fastening is right, so i have no idea why it wont stay put. grrr. :wall:

You have plenty of length on it so you could just tie it like a rebozo (short wrap). The instructions for tying a sailors knot on the link I am about to post will show you how to tie a knot that you can tighten very easily but will not slip down at all with the weight of a child in it - I think it's very cool but I'm a sad knot geek

Well i seemed to have a little more luck yesterday and actually managed to BF Morgan in it whilst walking round Bournemouth town centre. I like the tail for hiding my boobs and Morgan was happy too.

I think i just need to keep trying with it. :cheer:
