Hurrah, it's a poll! (Apologies to those on Tapatalk/Convo).

I want to know...

Do you have to give people a list of things you want, so you know what you're getting is what you want or do you just let people surprise you?

Mostly I just let people get me whatever they want, but I also have an amazon.co.uk wish list because my Mum and a couple of other people always ask me what I want and I can never think of anything. I add things to the list throughout the year so that I can give them a few suggestions when they ask (otherwise they just keep bugging me for ideas).

I like surprises. I do drop a few hints though if there's something I really want :) x

I'm one of those people I hate receiving gifts , in the way that I am so awkward! I love giving gifts and seeing the people's faces. I have to open at the same time as someone else, I mean I have to make sure I look grateful enough, but not be fake etc etc. I get nervous thinking about it lol
I'm always grateful ofc, but maybe its the being watched? Lol
I dread being asked what I want because 99% of the time I genuinely can't think of something I want, if I do see something I like I can't bring myself to say to people

I'm more of a giver. But prefer a surprise! Easy to buy for, girly girl! Xxx

I love surprises but I usually give hubby a list, and he'll get me a few surprises on top. Same with my mum and dad, they buy from list, but add surprises in.

I too find it awkward, Kayelle, as its so hard to make sure you look sincere (even when you genuinely love a pressie!!) I always love all my pressies but I struggle when opening to seem grateful enough! x

Exactly Kirsty! Glad I'm not alone lol.
I'm always so genuinely happy that someone even though to get me something so why do I struggle lol

I honestly wouldn't care if I never got a present ever again, on my birthday is be happy with going out for a meal or something and Xmas I just enjoy the atmosphere and playing games lol

Aww I feel greedy  I love getting presents, especially when the giver "gets" me, my Husband has given me some things I massively treasure over the years. (My favourite was a 1910 edition of my favourite poet's work  )

I do love giving presents too though, especially if I can see the reaction when they open it.

Im sorry I didn't mean to suggest anyone was greedy at all! Just that I have cold sweats over receiving presents so its easier to avoid them lol. Like with baba , when he was born and people came towards me with presents I'd quickly block with baby and deflect to oh. Is coo over lovely pressies at home then send a lovely thank you card lol

 I was joking, love!

I prefer surprises if I do get gifts, however if my OH were to buy something expensive I'd want it to be something I'd want but I normally can guess what he's bought me. lol. I prefer giving gifts and love to buy things that I've put a lot of thought into rather than just buying something someone has told me they want.

Well last year everyone (thankfully) asked me what books I wanted.

So to make sure no-one got me the same books I wrote out a list and divided it up so everyone had a selection of 3 to 4 books to choose from.
I then said choose 1 from each list so it was still a suprise as to which books on my wishlist I would get :D

Otherwise I normally end up with stuff I'm allergic to etc :( (yup everyone knows I don't ware makeup, allergic to choc unless dairy free, highly allergic to orange and perfumes etc yet every year they still get me those things!)

I just know this year everyone will get baby stuff when we've all ready told them we have no room for anything and still have no clue where to put the pram!

I like surprises, I am a hinter tho... It's good to get a surprise. But I hate people wasting money on stuff I don't like. So my boyfriend gets me a surprise. And I always love it. But with my mum and sis I usually ask for something. Or I get money. My sister was round the other day and I was using a little sample of perfume I was given in a shop, and she said take it I want new perfume from Santa, and I said yeah! So just need to pick one!x
