What stuff to Buy? Please add to my list

Hey Ladies,

I'm just going through the MotherCare Website at the moment, trying to compile a list of the key items that i'm going to need to start off with... I've made some key decisions and usually i am the most indecisive person. Here is what i've got so far.

Please can you help me out and add to my list! I'm not bothered about buying everything for the first year and clothes, as family and friends will bombard me with clothes. I'm just interest in the basic survival items i'll definitely be needing at the Begin.

Any Help girls, would be really appreciated and if you can reccomend a good product or 2 you have bought please do, i'm clueless!!!!

So far on my list:
(All from mothercare)

- Set of 3 Jamestown Antique pine
cotbed
changing unit
wardrobe

- Quinny buzz 3 wheeler or Quinny buzz 4 wheeler (Anyone got one?)

- Family Fix Base Maxi cosi

- Maxi cosi pebble car seat

-Mosi basket & Stand

- Changing mat

-Bath stuff? lol

- Bouncer thingy

- Safety gates by one get one 1/2 price at MC

- Fire Guard


I'm planning on breast feeding but not sure whether i should buy bottles/sterlisers just in case?

You will still need a stereliser for teethers dummies etc.

Yeah you will still need a sterilizer and bottles incase you express and to sterilize dummies, nipple shields etc. If you plan to express too you might want a pump too.

I would suggest a baby gym and a few toys, as they become interested very early!
A baby monitor, even if baby is in your bedroom, when you put them down for a nap it's useful!

My sister did a great list for me.... it was great.

She suggests getting

- a few sets of sheets for cot/moses basket because they can dirty them very often and you don't want to be washing the same set every day...
- Lots of muslins - can be used for heaps of things... cleaning baby sick, wrapping baby in ect...
- bath thermometer and normal thermometer
- breast pads as you plan to breastfeed.
- feeding pillow
- nipple cream - can even start to use it before baby comes to prepare your nipples.
- baby nail clippers

nipple shields are thin plastic thingys that u can put over youre nipples when breastfeeding to try an protect them so its not as painful.
then ull need things like maternity pads and nipple pads theres sooo much..........

I've just purchased a dream genni sleep pillow, which they seem to think can double up as a feeding pillow.... We'll see how it goes x

Kezza I went and found the thread you did with this list in TTC a few weeks ago and circulated it round Tri1 too
