ok i need your opinions!

we are going to a wedding on friday and as my brother and sister in law are having alex for the day and over night we booked a room at the hotel so we could have a drink and some time to ourselves.

it never bothered me leaving him overnight as although he hasnt stayed overnight with them before he's been to their house loads with and without us and has stayed overnight at our parents before.

however....
he has been off colour this week with a tummy bug and the last few nights has gone down screaming (normally goes with barely a whimper!) and woken in the middle of the night screaming (not done this in god knows how long either!) We have soothed him and left him to cry and he does go off in 15/20 mins.

problem is my brother has two kids (6 & 2) and i really dont know if its fair to ask them to have him overnight if he is going to wake screaming at 2am!

i dont care about leaving the reception early if we have to but i think if we cancel the hotel room we will probably have to pay for it as its only a couple of days away :x its £65 which is money i'd rather not spend on nothing!

should i hold out and hope he comes out of it in time? he has just gone down for a nap and only cried for a couple of mins so am hoping he is getting back to normal. if i ask my sil i know she will say its fine as thats her all over - too lovely for her own good!

help! (sorry its long  )

*** update *** just rang the hotel and as its an airport hotel they dont charge you for room unless you cancel after 2pm on the day :cheer: so i can see how he goes and decide on the day

i guess they have a lot of last minute cancelations with flight delays etc.

hi Em

I think that you should just see how he is over today and tomorrow. is he teething, or are you anxious and he is picking up on it. have you changed his diet so he is more windy.

I would be like you, cancelling everything but it sounds as if whatever he had he is getting over it.

If thats the case then go and enjoy yourself.

we;; he has had a horrid bum sinec saturday and was a bit off his food till yesterday. we threw his dinner up friday and saturday but has been sick since then - was really grumpy monday but back to himself yesterday.

am going hv clinic later today as just a bit worried about his poo's, really runny!

he seems ok with his milk and is taking lots of water.

i think he was waking cos he had tummy pains - not sure if he then associated being in bed alone with feeling bad?

i think you are right though - no point cancelling just yet if we can do it on the day - will see how we go!
