What is this?

Kieran has had this on his arm since he was born and I just thought it was a birthmark but looking at it today and it looks like it's got abit bigger Anyone know what it is and why it's getting bigger?

Could still be a birthmark, it's just growing as he grows. OH's dad has one that fills his entire arm. Just double check the next time you get him weighed.

yep i would say a birthmark.. and i would also say he has a little one on his shoulder to..

Its a cafe au lait spot... 10% of the population has them with no other issues...

They can mean that your child has another disease, but this is extremely rare and they generally will have many of these spots not just the one your LO has

I have two of these, one on my leg and one on my wrist...mine have grown slightly as an adult and mum says they grew when i was little.
We call them 'tea stains'

Thanks. I've never heard of them or seen them before.

I'll still ask the HV when I see her next just incase but atleast I know it's probably just a birthmark and nothing else

I have one on the bottom of my back/top of my bottom iykwim.

Iv got one on my arm... Step mum tried washing it off when I was wee!

Iv also got one on a cheek VERY faint, but its large. OH never noticed, I had to point it out with the light on one night.
