WOW that sounds impressive!

There is nothing that comes with working for the M.O.D that means you cant tell people you're job title. Alan works for the 'defence of this country' But im about to tell everyone what he does at no cost because its not top secret untill you start telling people things they actually do at work.

Alan is a shift engineer in one of the main boiler houses at A.W.E (atomic weapons establishment) (sparky) for the m.o.d

He used to be in management in the offices doing risk management but got bored of desk work so went back to more hands on stuff, now his shift teams are responsable for the running of the whole site which is very very big, and if they fuck up could cost millions...per day :talkhand:

aww poor you! that sucks!

nah he's not that clever (he'll get a big head if i say he is haha) - he just knows a lot about computers and databases and gadgets and gismos and all that technological stuff.

I recognise your OH. Did he go to Lancaster Uni (93-97)? Or maybe some IT conferences????? Maybe he looks like all the other IT blokes in this world, but it's been annoying me for ages who he looks like :x

lol no he didn't - not either.....

but it's not really surprising that you recognise him - he gets it ALL the time from people that he doesn't know at all lol.

I think there's a lot of people that look like him knocking about ;)

My DH is a remote systems engineer fixing those silly machines in the pubs that you can play things like "who wants to be a milliionaire" before that he was an assistant manager for JD sports

this is fascinating bar the IT peeps... there are so many different jobs!!( i work in recruitment so i would find it interesting).

mine is a project worker for a national charity so he works some odd shifts.
