hey guys! im 40+3 today, think im starting to lose my plug! but i know it could still go on for a while yet!
tomoro i have a midwife appointment. she said she wouldnt do a sweep til im 41 weeks. i will only be 40+4 tomoro. but i wont see her again for another week, by which time il be 41+4 (11 days overdue) and it will be likely il need to be induced if i go that far.
so do you reckon she should do a sweep tomoro?
im going to say to her that id like one because im dying for this to happen naturally, i wanna use the pool and not use any drugs (with the exception of gas and air), but if im induced i automatically wont be allowed to use the pool and its likely il need more drugs.
so really feel like she should do the sweep to give me a good chance at going naturally.
but she can be a bit unhelpful at the best of times. and i dont think she will agree to do it, if she doesnt agree to it then do i have a right to stand up for myself?? i dont want to have a fallout. but i cant see myself just letting it slide. just looking for some info on how to handle the situation if she does say no. thanks xxx

It is worth asking her if she would do a sweep especially as she won't see u again until 11days over. My mw is just as useless and been driving me potty the last couple of days! Not good for a fed up overdue pregnant lady at all. I hope u get what want from her.

As for ur plug I hope it means something is happening, but not to dash ur hopes but I had a sweep at 40+4 on Friday and started losing my plug on Saturday. I'm still pregnant and still losing masses of my plug now 5 days later and not so much as a niggle! Xx

You can only ask hun, I don't know why some mw's are so unhelpful with sweeps. I was lucky with my mw I suppose and she did one the day before I was due because she wouldn't see me for another week. I started losing my plug on Sunday and went into labour on Thursday, but everyone is different. Good luck for tomorrow x x
