What do you eat

Inspired by Gregorysgirl's thread about what to do while your feeding,

I wondered what everyone munches on to keep their energy up when bf'ing??

I mostly snack on choc biscuits through the night, so looking for some healthier inspiration. Xxx
 
Pitta bread with hummous, celery and cucumber sticks. Mini cocktail sausages... Cubes of cheese and pickle... God its been that long i cant remember now!
 
When I was BFing my son I used to always have sweets lol Candy King pic n mix is my fave and now I actually crave sweet things with this pregnancy so am still a slave to the sweets!

Grapes was a good one though, used to get through loads of grapes!
 
I don't but I have a choccy chafing around 2-3pm so I have a hot chocolate.


 
Apple turnovers are my staple BFing treat, otherwise lots of milk and cereal and veggie soups. Also haggis, which people keep buying me because it's my favourite thing in the world :D
 
flaplack or oaty biscuits. Guilt free too as oats are good for milk supply :)
 
Sometimes I have nutrigrain bars, which are kinda oaty. I'm just not good at prepping stuff in advance. So sweets and biscuits are easiest. Xxx
 
i dnt tend t eat anything thru the night....i always have a snack bfore bed n prob have brekky around6am....lots of water. had t stop caffine as it was givin.me tingly pin sensation in my boobs.
wats the official info on hw many extra calories u need if bf?? my mum keeps tryin t encorage me to eat more but dnt want to if im gunna end up puttin weight on xxx

It's not the time to be worried about weight. Just eat when you are hungry and you might be surprised. I've pretty much lost all my babyweight (bar the belly flump) through eating lots of chocolate and bfing. My first 6 weeks I barely went out as I had a section, and we live in a 1st floor flat so I couldn't physically get the baby out and I still lost the weight.


 
I was worried about the extra calories too, but I keep losing weight, BFing is very demanding on your body calorie-wise.
 
Yeah, I wouldnt be stressing about weight just now, just go with the flow.

I only asked cos I feel like I'm eating too much choc, needed a wee change.

I'm not managing to eat full meals just now - not sure if that's cos I'm grazing, or the reason for it iykwim, I just seem to be full really quickly.
 
i think my baby weight has gone...altho i never get weighed n dnt even own a pair of scales.
on that note im goin t have some of hubby topgear bday cake x
 
I always take a banana & a granola bar to bed although I'm eating way too much chocolate during the day, I've got a thing for snickers bars at the moment! Seem to have loads of dried fruit too so I nibble on that.
 
I don't eat at night but I have a big glass of water by my bed. Through the day I eat whatever I fancy but that seems to include a lot of chocolate.....
 
I get starving in the night so snack on those little boxes me raisins kids have in their lunch boxes or cereal bars. Plus i have a pint of water next to the bed. I've been eating lots of chocolate in the day too, making up for going without it all pregnancy! Its great this guilt free eating and losing weight, I've not been this light in 10 years!

Mmm Im not impressed! Just got told off by oh for eating my raisins apparently the box is too noisy! Wtf! Never mind the snoring, farting and beer breath I've been putting up with from him! Crunchy crisp it is tomorrow night.....
