Hi ladies sorry for the long winded post...

This is my second clomid cycle, the first one didnt result in anything so this cycle I had 100mg on CD2-6.

Started taking opks on CD9, started bbt on CD10.

CB digi was a flashing smiley from CD10 onwards, so was the CBFM. The cheapy opks were all negative.

I got strange pains on CD16 (yesterday) from about 2am onwards (been working nights) and sure enough, got home and tested and had my peak on the fertility moniter and a static smiley on the digis, along with a pretty dark opk. Not sure if this is O pain as have never felt it before. The only way i can describe it is sort of like trapped wind or a stitch just a few inches in from my hip and up from my pelvis. This lasted on and off all day yesterday and ive been getting thismorning too. Also today my nipples have started hurting.

Took another cheapie last night about 9pm and was positive. Woke up this morning, second peak reader on the CBFM and another positive OPK. I know your not supposed to read the digi sticks but this mornings peak reading, the line was darker than yesterdays peak, so im thinking maybe yesterdays peak was the start of the LH surge? Also, my CM has been dry up untill thismorning where it was Wet (tmi sorry) When should I count 1dpo from? I've never gotten a positive OPK before and have always relied on bbt to tell me when Ive O'd, but this isnt going to be very reliable as i worked nights from monday to Friday last week so my temps upon waking were obviously higher than normal, I did record them but I dont think ill be able to clearly see when/if I O'd by them.

Ive included my charts and opk's, hopefully someone can shed some light.

We bd on, CD6,8,13,15 and this morning 17 (Oh worked 15 hour shift yesterday and was to tierd to do it last night :wall2: so had to settle for a quicky before work thismorning lol). Hopefully were covered.

Any ideas when I should count O from?

Lucky me has also woken up with full blown tonsillitis this morning aswell, so I hope that doesnt impact anything.

I think most say af is due 15 days after a positive opk? So that would mean you ovulate day after opk and the next day is 1dpo? I’m not 100% though and as this is my first month using opks I’d love to know too!

That's how I'd interpret it too SugaryIris.

I've also read that it's best to test LH after 2pm, and not with FMU as the hormone is synthesised overnight and you might miss your surge.

Yeah i usually do with cheap opks, test multiple times a day nut the cbfm and cb advanced digis specifically tell you too test with fmu.

So as I had to days of positive opks, do I count the day after both as 1dpo or as O day? :oooo:.

Ive been temping for years, as I never have gotten a positive opk before. But as I cant rely on that this cycle unsure of which day to count as O?17 or 18?

Thank you ladies xxx

I count ovulation as when I get the ovulation pains.

Hmmm that complicates it even more as the O pains started before the first positive opk and lastes about three days I think:wall2:

Not easy is it.

Hope we covered it x

Even the sharp pains? I literally get them about 12 hrs after the solid smiley for a few minutes. Guess you can't use them if they are over days. To be honest I' not sure it's possible to know the exact day of ovulation, just the 48 hr window after your pos opk. I've never been totally sure.

I would say in your case when the pain stopped the egg was either out or your body has given up so would count from that point as being ovulation, so the following day 1dpo. Exciting that the clomid seems to be working for you!

Hey girl! I feel for you in regards to the tonsillitis, that stuff is NOT fun!! It could mess with your temperatures if you have a low grade fever.

Do you take your BBT at the same time everyday? I'm assuming you aren't because of your schedule. This might not be able to tell you much, unfortunately.

The cramps you had, were they just on one side?

Usually when you get your first positive, you ovulate within the next 12-36 hours. If that is too confusing for you, I would instead pay attention to your CM and your ovulation pains. After ovulation, you dry up. Before ovulation you have watery to egg white CM.

I would says CD 16 was the day you ovulated based on your charts and the ovulation pain you experienced.

Haha, Sunflower I had the sharp pain starting about 2am Friday morning until the afternoon on Sunday (on and off), Ive never had this type of pain before so cant say for sure that it was O pain. So the pain started before I got the pos OPK, got the pos OPK about 8am friday morning after my shift. Hopefully dtd on thursday and saturday am caught it:oooo:

The pain stopped Sunday afternoon, bit of a temp rise today (if I discount the days I worked nights) so day after the pain stopped which would go along with that, really wish I hadn't been working nights as I feel I can't pinpoint it now! I suppose the fact that I had real positive OPK's, a Static smiley and the peak reading on the monitor is a good sign as I've never had positive opks before. Also although the opk was positive Friday morning, the positive was a lot darker on Saturday morning (to me anyway) Think you can see the difference on the picks, Friday (CD16) was lighter positive than Saturdays (CD17), so hopefully dtd on thursday and saturday am has caught it! maybe (hopefully) I o'd sometime between saturday afternoon and sunday

Yeah, tuesday, wed,thu and fridays temps are no good bcause of work. Yes cramps were on one side, the right which I have never had pain on before weirdly. My cm has been been non existent this cycle thanks to the clomid, I only got CM on CD17 and I have some today too.

Hopefully we caught it, I'm not hopeful though

So after taking out the temps from when i worked nights last week what do you thibk the chance is that I O'd on CD17 or even 18?

Could have been either. Some women ovulate before the dip, some during, some after. I don't think you can know for sure. xx
