Hi Mums!

We recently had visitors and they brought us a TON of baby clothes for newborn including:

8 x babygros
3 x vests
4 x tracksuit bottoms
1 x jeans
10 x socks
3 x bibs
1 x grobag
1 x all-in-one coat

What I want to know is what else I need for our baby boy. Obviously some tops (as there are no t-shirts or sweatshirts), and more vests and bibs. But what else? More of the above? Is there stuff I am forgetting?

Oh and please bear in mind I live in Southern Spain so it rarely gets very cold here. I would love your opinion on this as I want to be as sensible as possible when it comes to shopping for baby.

Thanks in advance!! :)

Regarding Spain there is mamichuli and Squiglet on here who could help with Spain weather and shops etc though not sure where in Spain they live. I'd say you should get some things in 0-3 because you never know how big your baby will be and if you have a biggun then you won't be in size newborn for very long. Also stock up on vests as they wear them all the time and are the first thing to get dirty from puke, posseting, dribble, and then on the other end out-of-nappy-poo experiences.. it's ok if vests are a bit big. You've definately got the staples there, you don't need a lot to start with until you know what you're having and how big the baby actually is, and whether you turn out to be a baby-lives-in-babygros or a i-dress-baby-in-little-outfits mum... not that either is a bad thing, but bear in mind however cute the little outfits are, will you want to be putting them on with 2 hours sleep and a whinging squiggling baby :rotfl: That said I started dressing Ryan in "real clothes" when he was about a month, but just used vests and babygros before then. x

buy more vests.... :rotfl: you can get long or short sleeved, and add cardigans or trousers to them...mamichuli lives in the malaga area so could advise more. It gets reasonably cold over Nov, Dec, Jan time so maybe invest in some warmer clothes. But lil miss has been living in vests for the past month because she overheats so much. And at night she is just in a baby gro. The little out fits are nice but I find that lil miss gets too warm in them. my mum brought a lovely baby coat that we used once I think  it was just too warm this year.

I would also get another gro bag... you need at least two... trust me...

I personally wouldn't bother with 'outfits', I'd buy more gro's, some without feet for when it's warm, vests and bibs, and some muslin cloths, and a couple of hats :D

As a mummy to a newborn I recommend you just buy vests, vests, vests and more vests!

 We bought so many newborn outfits and 0-3 month outfits but I actually prefer her in vests/sleepsuits... she looks more like a baby! Plus they are easier to get on and off when they wee/puke/poo on them!

Remember as well that when baby is born you will be inundated with new clothes too! :rotfl:
