I have long hair comes just below bra strap I usually have it feathered round front and some layers in back but it always looks the same! I dont mind losing some length but dont want a short cut (was tempted cause might be easier after baby comes but OH loves it long!) I really want a change cut wise but am at a loss what I can actually do to make it look different but still long OH always says after Ive had it cut that it just looks the same  I had highlights year before last then went totally blonde but couldnt be bothered with keep getting it done so am back brown now but dye it mahogany (cant spell today) I like the colour just borred with the style!

Any suggestions welcome!

If your hairs straight how about a really really really loose perm? I don't mean like 80s bananarama style but wavy beachy type hair? Have you got a pic that we can see what would suit you?

Thanks hun! Think I will talk to my sis about it when I see her next shes a hairdresser and did my hair for the wedding

idk hun it depends on ur hair type and face shape- could u post a pic?

Your wedding pic is lovely :D
I think your hair looks really nice. It does look good with the curls in. Maybe you could just add a full fringe or a side sweepy fringe to make you feel like you have done something a bit different but still keep your lovely long hair

I think the weight of it long pulls it down and makes it seem more limp than it actually is.

I'd be inclined to lose a couple of inches of the length, have it layered and feathered and to have a fringe cut into it to give it a change on your face. Does not have to be a heavy or blunt fringe, but something light and choppy to give it some lift around your face. Good thing with that sort of fringe is you can flick it back and out of your face if you don't want to wear it down. And as it grows it grows in with the layers.

I have long hair and change my basic style every 6 months or so regardless. I go from fringe to no fringe, layered heavily to only feathering round my face etc. I find once my hair gets too long it just starts to give the appearance of pulling my features down and makes me look older. Lightening the cut into it to feather/chop it gives it more body and movement. My hairdresser is very good at cutting it so as it grows out it still keeps a good shape.

I had it cut a couple of weeks ago and had about 4 inches lopped off so it rests on my shoulders for a change. Have to say its great, lighter to wear, easier to manage.

Thanks for your replies girls!

I agree without layers and feathers it is too heavy and shapeless I do have them cut in whenever I have it cut but I'm not good at going to hairdressers regually cause I like my sister to do it but she lives quite far away so it can be quite awhile between cuts I'm going to try a new hairdressers this week though. I think I will stick with the feathers and layers but maybe ask them to be a bit more choppy and noticable then normal which usually means they have to take some length off too my hair grows so quick I usually have a good few inches off each time might try a light fringe too I had one awhile ago I wasnt keen on but think it was a bit heavy
