Well, on Thursday morning me and my son Reece went to a routine ante natal check up at the hospital, I've had high blood pressure through this pregnancy and did have in Reece's one too. Little did I know of the drama that was about to start!
The doc took my bp and about fell off her chair, it was 180/120 so me and poor Reece got rushed to the labour ward recovery room as it is the one closest to theatre, he had to sit and listen to lots of screams coming from women down the corridor, poor toot
Eventually my sister came and got him and I was strapped to a million machines, drips etc. Hubby came up and I calmed down a bit and got moved to an observation ward where they decided I wasn't well enough to be discharged so was sent up to another ward and started on a course of tablets, 2 tablets 3 times a day.
Over the course of about 36 hours the tablets weren't really doing much for my bp, bottom number was still hovering over 100 so my dose was upped to 4 times a day!
On Friday night I was on the phone yapping away to my Mum and a midwife came to check my bp, she took it and literally ran away! A consultant, SHO and 3 midwives were there alll staring at me yapping away on the phone!
Turns out my bp was back up to 180/118....back to theatre where I was met by hubby who had been phoned in on the sly!
I was given EVEN MORE tablets and my bp went down again.
So, as it stands today I am still pregnant, a little over 37 weeks, as I am having an elective section this time they try and leave delivery as late as poss as its best for baby's lungs, if I was having a natural birth I would have been induced on Thursday most likely
My section has been brought forward to the 22nd July as opposed to the 29th and I'm now at home rattling away with all my tablets to be checked by the midwife daily. I really hope I can last at home until at least Friday Sitting in a boring hospital so does nothing for your sanity does it?
Anyway, my little madam will be here soon and we can see if she was worth all this trouble!! I'm sure she will be though.
I even missed SarahH's Arianna's bday party cos I was stuck in there I'll make up for it next year, heehee
How is everyone in here? Anyone else been held hostage in hosp?
Any babies due on my new date?
