Weight Watchers/Slimming World

yes weightwatchers is calorie control but you can eat any foods you like all day as long as u stick to your calories. slimming world is a healthy eatin plan where you can eat as much of certain foods in a week as you want and you have sins for alcohol, junk food etc. i have lost weight on both so they both work it just depends on what suits you as a dieter. slimming world you can carry on doing whilst pregnant, weightwatchers you cant because it restricts calories. i am doin slimming world at mo cus im PG. with weightwatchers you tend to eat less especially if u eat what you normally eat so sometimes you can be left hungary at night but with slimming world it only really works if u eat alot of the free foods as the more you eat the more weight you will lose. hope this helped hun. xxxx

Yes they are different but I know little about them. I tried WW once but the foods were all 'fussing' over ingredients and as a poor student in halls of residence I didn't get along well with it. I thought slimming world was based on colours, red and green. One week you have foods on the red list the next week foods on green etc, plus a free list of veggies etc you can eat anytime. Not up-to-date with them though so they might well have changed since my student days!!

Thanks girls, I think Slimming World would be the one for me. I only want to loose about 6lbs. I cant be bothered to join and do weekly weighs on (if they do that). Do you have any tips or diets I could try??

I don't think you can join WW unless you have 10+ pounds to loose. I might be wrong though.

Diet tips? Prepare foods to nibble on when you need them, i.e. spend time cutting up crisp carrot or cucumber sticks and pop them in the fridge. I loved the idea (on another thread) of making a fruit smoothie and freezing them...you could make nice little icelolly snacks from that, pure fruit, low fat etc. Drink lots of water, hunger is often mistaken for what is actually dehydration. Good luck with your endevours!!

me and my mum are on WW now - although only my mum goes to the weigh-ins - we have books and differnt things to work out what we can eat, at the moment my mum is allowed 21 points per day and i am allowed 18 per day - i thought i would struggle but TBH its easy - i can eat what i want as long as i dont go over the 18 points, there are WW foods which are really yummy (e.g. nut bars, pizzas, swwets!) and they have hardly any points, i have the pack of WW sweets and they are only 1/2 a point per PACKET!! how good is that?!?!

my mum is also 1 pound off losing a stone :cheer:

i, on the otherhand, lappsed at the weekend as i went drinking two nights in a row - so have now put back on 1 1/2 pounds :x

I re-joined Slimming World the other week. The 1st time I went I lost 2 stones. You can eat soooooo much it's hard to beleive how you can lose weight. There are red & green days.On the greens days you can eat as much pasta/spuds etc as you like & on red as much meat as you like. Fruit and most veg are also free on both days, meaning you can eat as much as you like of them. It is a great plan if you don't want to 'feel' as if you are dieting. Hope this helps hun.

Hiya thanks girls, do you know if I can buy the books, etc for Slimming World without having to join??

Whenever I need to lose a bit of wieght (more often than I would like lol) I just swap my breakfast lunch and snacks for slimfast shakes/snacks and try to have a light healthy dinner. Seems to work for me, its dead easy and if you have a fairly active lifestyle anyway you wont really need to do much else.

Yeh you can often get the books and stuff on ebay really cheap so have a look hun. slimming world is good if u aint got much lose cus its healthy eating so can be used to maintain weight as well as lose weight! good luck hun xxxxx

Thanks :D :D :D

I know this sounds stupid but there was so many different books on Ebay im not quite sure which ones to get. How will I know how to do the diet??
