Hi ladies, I am hoping to get insight into this...

We started weaning our little man four days ago, as he has just turned 5 months. Started on puréed sweet potato. The first time he pulled a face all the way through his lunch, and I only gave him a couple of spoon fulls (which he hardly swallowed).

The next day he took a bit more in and actually swallowed. On the third day he was opening his mouth to be fed! On the forth day (today), I was out and his dad fed him. The baby was super keen and had three quarters of what I had prepared. Pic below.

Sooooo, his poo tonight (sorry!) was basically sweet potato!!! Didn't look like much of it was digested.

My question is - is that normal or do I need to step back and give him tiny amounts?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Xx

Yup completely normal for their poo to be the same colour as what they've eaten now.

Nutsyputs I'd forgotten about banana poo! Not given my youngest any yet.

Normal! That's great he's enjoying it so much! I've been giving my little girl (also 5 months) puréed banana and her poo is interesting to say the least

My baby still pulls faces when he eats lol. And wait till you get your first solid poo lol.

Ahh, thanks ladies.

I thought I was over feeding him.

Looking forward to banana poos. ;)

Lol, I was surprised to see sweet potato poo the first time too!

Never heard of banana poo before, havent tried it yet but tried our LG on beans today...wondering what repurcussions there will be there lol...quantitywise bigbee, our LO can eat anything from 5-8 teaspoon fuls per meal..after about a coupel of wks I started giving her two servings of puree for each sitting i.e. veg and fruit or meat and fruit for variety and she can clear off 8 teaspoons of one of those if she likes the flavour...alternatively she will only take 2 teaspoons of something she's not so keen on so varies really...along with 900-1000ml milk per day our lil miss is now on 3 meals per day totalling 18 teaspoons puree, half slice bread (lightly toasted), 4-8 carrot stix and 4 carrot batons plus about 10ml water over those three meals...where does she put it all lol...she hasnt reduced her milk qts yet but has been a month and a half now on solids....

Hi, you all have me curious! What is banana poo like? I've given LO different things in the last few days and banana was one of them. Had some interesting results nappy wise but wondered what banana is like now you have mentioned it. Bit like big bee we've been able to see most things but one nappy I wasn't sure what it was (sorry tmi, I know) as it didn't look like anything he had eaten.

Hehe, banana poo looks like baby has worms! It has black stringy bits in it. My OH freaked right out when he first saw it and was all ready to take baby to the doctors. Lol

Xx

Omg! Thanks Emmajaine. That explains the nappy we had here then. Have to say I freaked a bit too cuz he really didn't have that much. Love this forum!

Bet you never thought poo would be so important, lol.

Ohhh, stringy poo with black bits in it? Rank. Haha

I was expecting just a slimy nappy.

Oh, the excitement of solid food.
