My 6 and half month old girl has just moved up to 3 solid meals a day in the last week and I am also trying to move her over from BF to bottles, she would never take a bottle when she was younger but has recently decided they are OK after all1.. so far I have replaced one feed a day at lunchtime, I have been finding that she only takes about 3 ounces so today I left out one feed and gave her a bottle at 11.00 and another bottle at 3pm thinking she must get more hungry then but she only had 3 oz at 11.00 and just over 4 at 3pm.Of course I dont know how much she was having when I was BF but this doesnt seem like much. If she has 4-5 feeds a day at that I am concerned she will not be getting enough milk - she is only too happy to fill up on slids as she loves them!
Has anyone had this happen when they move from BF to bottle? or know if this is OK - I am feeling anxious that once I cut right down my milk will be gone then - it wont come back and she will be stuck with bottles and maybe shes not getting on with them as well as I thought.

I've just weaned Isaac onto bottles. I was concerned at first cos one feed he'd take 5 ozs then the next only 2ozs. I don't have any advice regarding weaning onto bottles when she's being weaned onto solids, as Isaac hasn't started weaning yet. I have found though that his feeds have evened out quite a bit more with the more bottles he had. He is fully bottlefed as from today and so far the feeds have worked out quite evenly so far, and he's starting to up his intake now. But not sure about it from a solids point of view. That probably doesn't help at all though! But my guess is that if she is taking 3/4ozs regularly you don't need to worry too much about being stuck with bottles cos your milk has gone.
