I demand feed my baby and started weaning about a month ago. Its going really well and he now chews lumpy mash and has started having 3 meals a day already. He has baby porridge for breakfast, a fruit pot for lunch and a home cooked meal of pureed veg or whatever for dinner

I feed him meas in between his breast feeds but he already seems to go a little longer during the day now around lunch time, which is the first meal we started with. Is this OK? I don't want him to lose any important milk feeds.

He has expressed milk in his porridge so that doesn't worry me and I could put milk in his dinner? He can't have formula milk so I have to express if I want to add it to anything.

I just wondered what was the norm for bf babies.

Def add breast milk to his dinner, the more he gets, the better! Slightly different but we put formula into Riley's lunch until about 8 months old and even now we out a touch of cow's milk into his lunch to bump up his milk intake. Obviously your wee boy has a cow's milk allergy but adding your milk into his food is always a good thing :)

Hi, I started weaning at 6 months and DS has only just started to really reduce feeds now at 8 months. Always offer boob about 30-45 minutes before a meal. Their main source of nutrients should still be from milk at the moment. They will gradually just take less and less though.
