Hi all

As most of you know, I recently passed my finals and qualified as a nurse. Well, yesterday, after an hour long interview, I was offered my first staff nurse post! Its working in neuro theatres and neuro radiology/angiography as a theatre practitioner. I am thrilled about this and OH was also told (by strange coincidence) that he also got the job he was interviewed for, also a theatre practitioner but a different hospital (he just qualified too).

So we are both over the moon at the moment BUT where does TTC fit into all of this? Before I got the job, I just thought 'sod it, if I get pg, I wont care' but now I have the job I want to work there for a while before going on mat leave. I also dont want to stitch them up after they have given me a wonderful opportunity (also you cant work in angio if your pg because of the x-rays)

So OH and I discussed it and we have decided to have a break and start TTC again around December time. I still love this forum and everyone on the TTC thread so I wont be going anywhere and will still be posting. Hope thats OK with everyone!

Congratulations.

I too am a theatre nurse (anaesthetics and recovery)and it can be very rewarding even if it can be shattering with breathing in all the anaesthetic gases!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope you both enjoy the work. Feel free to ask any questions however my specialities are gynae, ortho, breast and urology. However since you are newly qualified i bet i could learn a few things from you as i feel i've forgotten loads since qualifying.

Good luck TTC later.

Crikey who needs a doctor when you can just come on here!!! :rotfl:
