No, they haven't gone!!

The more I think about it though the more I'm worrying about it! I can't stand the thought of them going all over my floor, or bed, or sofa, and the thought of them going in public is scaring me even more!! I know it's stupid and I should be pleased when they go, but still......it's making me very nervy about going out and I'm not the type to stay in the house all day if you know what I mean?!

So, I've been trying to stop worrying about it all the time (like every time I feel like I need the loo) and am trying to make the best of it by at least making it funny. I'm even thinking of drawing up some sort of program whereby I can be in the best place possible for them to go lol! One of my mates was in IKEA when hers went and she got naff all. I've heard if they go in Mothercare then you get free goodies lol, where's the best place to loiter in case they go?

I did also hear about a woman who gave birth in a Kia taxi, and named their baby Kia as tribute. They told Kia and got given a free car!

 I love that you had to put 'no they havnt gone!' at the beginning lol.

I was in Next and they said theyd give me something if my waters broke lol. At the time I was thinking oh god i hope they dont go when Im out. Now I could have my waters go on the queens face and not be embarressed...Id just squeal with delight at the fact theyve gone! lol.

Chances are though that if your walking around they wont go. I always have people with phones on standby incase they go and I need clean clothes. Walking round with wet trousers is the worth part I think. :)

in that case i hope mine go in river island so i can get some new clothes ha ha

 Ive been looking at kia cars recently, maybe Ill go linger in their garage

Ive been having a little panic about where they go in the house, cos we bought a new build in Feb, its got new carpets which we cant afford to replace, a new bed, new sofas :faint: My mum pointed out that I can just buy a new sofa cushion inner so it wouldnt be really expensive, and Ive got a waterproof mattress protector on the bed and a towel over that  If they go on my carpets Ill just die, I got a bargain on 80% wool carpets!!

With DS my waters went at a little party to meet my friends new baby. I stood up and thought hmmm that seems like a lot of discharge... might just go to the loo. When I got to the loo I looked down and thought... hmmm I'm sure its not supposed to be running down my legs!!! I grabbed one of the ladies at the gathering and said "ummm I think I have a problem" (my exact words). Nobody actually realised apart from the lady and my friend - managed to avoid all the husbands at the party :D Borrowed clothes from my friend and away I went!

About an hour before I'd been in the middle of a busy Melbourne! I'm SO glad they didn't go then! I decided that I would grab the first woman I saw with a baby/pram and say 'help' :D

Most people I know said that their waters broke or labour started at night... so you may not be shopping!! To be honest when they go, your mind just goes "oh oh oh oh oh oh oh" so you probably won't be too embarassed!

Oo would be nice to get some freebies!!

With my first they didn't go. They had to pop them during labour but with my 2nd I was sat on the loo in my mothers lifting my bump up as I always did to release some pee lol and I heard an almighty bang. It just kept coming out! Surprising how much is there honestly

I've heard that Kia story as well - could you imagine if they went in a Porsche garage? :D

I'm not too worried about mine - i'm that desperate for him/her to come out i'd give birth in the middle of Morrisons if it came down to it! lol

I think the vast majority of women's waters don't actually go til they've been contracting fr a while! With k I had them broken and with E I genuinely don't remember them breaking! My mum doesn't remember it happening as she came out so god knows when it happened!!

supermarkets are generally thought to be good places for them to go I think...

 at MM&I with E's :D

They had to pop them during labour

why do they do that? I thought baby could be born in the waters? Midwife in my antenatal class told us that the longer theyre in the waters the better the birth

^^^^ I wondered that also - isn't it meant to be incredibly rare but extremely lucky for a baby to be born in the waters? :D

yeah I thought it was rare but a good thing, so why deliberately pop them? There must be some kind of reason and I feel like i want to find out now, incase they want to do it, and i dunno if i should consent to it or not :/

I know they do it if you're contractions slow down yet your waters haven't broken. The pressure of baby's head on your cervix is said to start them up again but if you're contracting well and dialating then I don't see why they should pop them...lol

It speeds up your labour if they do it! Mine were broken when I was 9-10cm and had been in labour like 20 hours! It just helps it to progress! As soon as mine were done the contractions came a lot more frequently and were a lot stronger and I was ready to push! They don't always do it but if things are starting to slow down it just helps you a long!

you heard an almighty bang? blimey!

Mine have been popped first to speed up labour, second they went in the bath during labour and i didn't even realise until i was told, third time just before i gave birth - that time i asked them to pop them as the pressure was immense but they wouldn't, when they did go i could hear them flood the bed and hit the floor - proper waterfall stylie!

I was 7cm with my first when they popped mine, they were bulging in front of his head so maybe that's why?

Yeah inky, was a really loud bang. I still didn't think it was my waters though..in denial maybe? Lol Cos I was lifting my bump up to have a pee I thought I'd released a load of pee  :rotfl:
