Hello...

How long did it take your LO to get used to drinking water?

I have only given her it in the past on hot days and she only took little sips when she was hot or clearly thirsty. I have not really had to bother much cos she has plenty of milk through the day and has never shown any signs of dehydration, plenty of wet nappies etc...

well now that we are starting to wean, i have got her the first stage sippy type cup...which she has managed to use no problem but you would think the water was horrific the faces she is pulling. ha ha. I am guessing it was just a shock cos it wasnt milk....

going to try her with a bit each day til she gets used to it...anyone else any other tips or advice? thanks xx

My HV said they need to try things about 12 times before they know if they like it or not, I think that means persevere lol. My lo takes water now but used to pull some hilarious faces, think it was because she was expecting milk to come out, bless her xx

he he thanks Vikki...I will keep on with it everyday, whether she likes it or not. he he..cruel mummy :) xx

Haha, it's one of the perks of parenthood to torment your kids isn't it? Along with embarrassing them when they're older :D xxx

yep...she even pulled a face with apple puree...my child is going to be hard to please...lol x

Yeh, just keep offering it regularly and I'm sure she will take to it! Ethan.never had v much initially but as milk gets less I have noticed he will drink a lot more water. I give it now every meal time, first thing in the morning and on and off throughout the day (he is on 3 bottles of milk too). Think its the sippy cup as well as water that takes the getting used to xx

oh i get such discusted looks when i give water too, she just opens her moute n lets it all roll out with a shocked expression lol

guess its like when i make a cup a tea n sit down to drink it thinking i made coffee

Jake didn't start taking water until around 6 months, he loves water from his cup with his meals and he just loves it anyway, seems to think he is great when he drinks from his cup lol

she had a tiny sip today...which is better than yesterday xx

just keep persevering as girls said, it.takes some time. I alwayd had a cup on the highchair when feeding and he would point if he.wanted water
