Hi,

I am currently suffering from massive water retention. I have to take steroids and it is an unfortunate side effect but it has got to the point where I have put on more than a stone in a month  I know it is definitely water not fat as my face, arms and neck have all swollen and they fluctuate, sometimes I deflate slightly then it appears again.

Anyone know how to get rid of it, are diureics any good?

Cheers.

You can take something with dandelion extract in, as that is supposed to be good for water retention. You can get them from a health food shop or I'm sure Boots do something like that.

can you not ask your dr for water tablets? they dont very often give them out now as they can be dangerous if you dont need them i got given them after i had thomas as my swelling never went down.
its worth a try as they worked for me in a few days :)
xx

thanks for the replies i'll try dandelion first and if that fails go to the docs.

It's just so frustrating :(

you probably are doing but drinks lots of water and really limit salt.
