Just had a call from my community midwife to tell me they found a water infetcion in my urine sample that needs to be treated straight away. I didnt get a chance to ask if this is anything to worry about as she was very vague and in a hurry. does anyone know?

Hope you are all ok x

Aww hun a water infection is nothing to worry about at all and it is easily treated. Pregnant and non pregnant women get them. I've had a few and they can be painful...for example when taking a wee.

Try not to worry u'll be fine

xx

Hiya hun,

Hope the antibiotics help, theres a thread about this is 2nd trimester, might be worth a read.x

Hi, I don't think they are much o worry about, but i have never had one - its sounds like they will sort it for you asap. Hope its all better soon

I wouldn't worry, they'll probably just give you some anti biotics and it'll clear up xx

Thanks! i know its a bit silly to be worried about something so petty but i think when you are having your first (like me) you worry about anything and everything! x

Agreed, Im worrying about everything too! I was beside myself when midwife said I had sugar in my urine, thankfully everyone here calmed me down!

Antibiotics will clear it quickly. It's obviously been caught nice and early if you have no symptoms so nothing to worry about :D

thanks. have to say Mervs Mum...im loving your pic! Bub looks so clear! is that a 3d pic? x

It is. It was a freebie a few weeks ago - it's not very good because he was rushing because they were running extremely late....the reason I got the free pics!

I had a water infection at 33 weeks, I didnt know anything about it but it was actually putting me into early labour, I started to have tightenings really regularly and when I saw my midwife at a routine appointment she couldnt believe it and sent me straight to hospital. They gave me steroid injections for baby's lungs in case I gave birth. I didnt know that it could put you at risk of pre term labour but it can. Not sure about early on but I know they like to treat it asap :) hope you feel better soon.

its scary what can put you into premature labour really, lots of things can do it! Im just glad they have caught it and hope i can keep it at bay!

That was a bit of a bonus to get them free mrevs mum, i was thinking about wether we should have some later but i thought we shpuld really save the money as i am self employed and will be giving up work when bub is born! Seeing yours is making me think again though.........
