Well my son is on hungary milk so his poo is harder than normal and he seems constipated alittle. he screams he finally passes a stool and I am so sorry for his little bottom when he goes.

I have found he likes favoured water is it safe to give him or not its sugar free, only thing I know it isn't is boiled... I got some robinsons hydro water blackcurrant as he was dry mouthed while we were out this afternoon and I had no boiled water or milk on me to hand.

Would it be acceptable to give him this water in small volumes to help him go better and increase his water intake? I did try the sugar water but he didn't seem that interested in it.

Is it mineral water? As babies aren't meant to have it. Have you tried baby juice? X

forgot to add he is only 8 weeks saw that stuff and its for 4 month olds :S x

I think the baby juice would be better than flavoured water, you could maybe dilute it more?

Why can't you just give cooled boiled water? They aren't meant to have a lot of water this young. I wouldn't say it's a good thing to give flavoured water, just normal water. They aren't meant to have more than 1-2fl oZ under 4 months really x

he doesn't like the taste of normal water, tried brown sugar doctor recommended that he still spat it out, he is not pooing great and needs more water to make is softer x

Did your doc really recommend brown sugar? Can't imagine giving that to a young baby. What about adding a small amount of milk to a bottle of boiled water just so he is familiar with the flavour? I dont know what else to suggest :(

My LO had difficulty poopin with hungry baby milk, so i just stuck to stage 1 and gave her more bottles, i gave her cooled boiled water about 3/4oz with a bit of gripe water in every night and this really helped, when she hit 17weeks i started weaning her and since then shes been much better, im trying not to give anything besides bouled water inbetween milk feeds cos its bad for there gums and means there meant to be more addicted to sugar when there older,

Good luck with tryna poop less painfully :)

X
