Water Births...what's ur thinking?

I'm def wanting one, everyone I know who's had one says it's great. I'm going to hire one though as I'm having a home birth. Hubby thinks I'm a bit weird though as I think he imagines he'll be standing there with a fishing net scooping out poo or something! Men!

I had a waterbirth and it was Fab! my baby was back to back so had horrendous back ache as soon as i got in the water the relief was unbelievable! i was in there for about 3 hours before baby was born in the water, the MW kept topping it up with warm warmer so it was a nice temperature the whole time, if you do Poo in the water they have like a sieve to get it out with. id defiantly want Another waterbirth when i have Another LO xx

I think I will be open to trying it but my hosp only have one pool i think so depends if its free

i dont even know if my hospial offers it but it is a great, modern hospital in central london so i'd be suprised if they don't

Is it chelse and westminster? Im sure they will. Do ur hospital do tours? Im looking into doing one at mine as they hold them the same day each week, just need to take a day off with OH as its at 3pm so cant get to london to work a half day and be back on time, and OH job dont allow half days.

Haven't had one but have the option to this time round as my hospital has just had a pool room put in
Will give it a try, love water so quite like the idea of giving birth in the pool.

I really really want a water birth infact I've always wanted 1 even before I got pregnant or thought about it, I think it looks very clean & less stressful I love being in the water or in a hot bath I find it relaxes me if I feel uncomfortable or stressed. When I was younger I suffered alot with cystitis & would always get up in the middle of the night & have a bath to calm me down - I can't wait I know my hospital have a fab pool goin to look next Monday I just hope I don't have any complications why I couldn't have 1 I'd be so disappointed!

Got shown the pool room at my hospital the other day and its lush but its a really busy hospital with only 2 pools so it'll all depend if its free, but I do work there so may always try that card lol ) maybe ill go in in my uniform so its obvious

i'm definitely up for the water birth but obviously it all depends if the pools are free (theres 2-in the hospital i'm at) my sister got sent to one but there is no way she would get in there as she hates the water! But the room is massive and i hope that means i could have 3 people in there!

I really want to do this while Hypnobirthing, I'm not the sort of hippy person, I just want to be relaxed and I love a bath I can be in there for hours, so I see this as my sort of thing, but as it's my first baby, I could be terrible for pain and want every drug going. You never know.

I was orginally against waterborth because of the whole 'poo in pool' thing and having it floating around, however from the reading I've done, nhs antenatal and nct I am now really hoping to have one! I really like the idea of it and our hospital has 2 pools- so if one is free I will def be giving it a go! The one thing I'm ot sure on is what happens if you have strep b.......I had a swab done yesterday.....if it comes back positive I know I should have antibiotics in labour, but because they are IV will that mean I can't be in the pool? Does anyone know? ......I know I could end up with other compleications which mean that I can't use a pool, but I will be really dissappointed if I can't at least give it a try!.....The hospital do say they will they will try and get u in one of the deep baths if a pool isn't free, and will let you deliver there too, but I don't think it would be the same! xx

Ok.. they have two pool rooms. Each is connected to a normal delivery room so u can go in and out of each as u please. Its first come first served. Apparently they are lovely. Its like a big private bathroom with a big jacuzzi in it
