I am coming up to 31 weeks and cannot believe the difference in how I feel now vs about 2-3 weeks ago, its like Ive aged 50 years! Is anyone else finding walking difficult?

I consider myself fairly fit and have kept up going to the gym and yoga throughout pregnancy, but today I decided to do a 30 minute walk somewhere, and I didn't make it! Honestly I did 20 mins and was so uncomfortable that I stopped. Had a sit down then went back the way I came! It might partly be due to baby's position which is very low, but when I walk now it feels so heavy and tight and like the baby could fall out (which I know is rubbish). My bump is not particularly big and I haven't put on excessive weight....

Ugh I feel really rubbish that I cant even manage 30 mins, I actually feel sort of ashamed by it..

Is anyone else in the same boat? Or is this really bad with 9 weeks still to go?!

Oh I gave up on the walking malarkey weeks ago!! I used to get the sensation where he was going to fall out a lot and only really get it now if I'm trying to walk quickly, so I don't. I used to get a lot of pressure on my lungs but he's moved down I think so don't have that as an issue anymore but I do walk very slowly, even if I'm going at my top speed.

Remember things are getting looser / wider very quickly now so if your body's saying it can't do it anymore, listen to it x

I've been the same since about 30 weeks. Mine is a combination of the size of baby, bump and his position. He's big and I'm only short! My back and hips ache if I have to walk any distance. I've never fully appreciated how much of an active family we are until now. We generally take our son somewhere that incorporates lots of walking most days and I'm just not up to it anymore! I'm 37 weeks now and having baby in two weeks by c-section, so will be like this still for a while after baby is born too!

I felt the same from 34 weeks. Now 39+5 and feel so so sorry for my poor little dog. He's so exited every morning but I'm only managing about 3/4 mile twice a day and he really needs more. Thankfully the weather is nice enough so I can sit in the garden and throw his ball for him but he needs a better run. I can't believe how quickly I get out of breath

Between week 28-30 (ish) I started to struggle with the walking too. Not so much breathing, its my poor bum/legs/pelvis!! I have sciatica anyway which makes me constantly miserable but with the extra growth of bump it is unbearable on some days. I literally limp to the toilet (I'd crawl if I could lol)

I don't think I've put on weight excessively either and Im normally fairly fit/active.
Sigh - I think we have to put it down to those lovely pregnancy 'quirks' ladies :( x

I've mostly managed to keep going when out for walks but i've had to take it easy at times when in the past i wouldn't have had too. Going down hill doesn't seem to agree with me so have to do that carefully. I think it's fair to say that now at nearly 35 weeks my usual swift walks are turning a bit more into strolls but I'm trying not to beat myself up about it. And it's a big change for me as i used to run all the time.

Just take it easy when you need to, i tend to not really go out with a time in mind just see how i feel and on the days it goes well go that bit further and if it's just not happening cut it short. If it's warm as well it'll be even tougher.

I've already started to feel like this :oooo:

My OH and I walk home from work and it's about a 20 minute walk. For a couple of weeks now we've had to walk so slow to account for me waddling beside him and over the past few days it's felt quite uncomfortable in the rib, back and lady region! I'm only 29 weeks! xx
