Help! Eva has never been one to sleep through, she still has feeds twice a night which is fine but she was good at going back to sleep after a feed until this week. The last few nights she has been waking at 5.30-6 am and then just not going back to sleep and I am getting up in the morning totally knackered and slightly resentful that I cant have a bit longer to lie in, which I hate feeling as I dont resent her at all :(
Her room is still dark at that time and I cant think of any other reason she would be so wakeful, sometimes she has only just had a feed around 4 ish as well so its not even hunger :?
Anyone got any ideas????????

  James wakes up at 5am regardless of whether he is hungry or not and wants to get up. I just have to go to bed earler as I havent found any other soultion just yet :(

sorry ladies...mine is now 1 and still gets up between 5.30 and 6.30am no matter what time she goes to bed :( Tried putting her to bed later but she just loses sleep and makes up for it in a nap later. The room is really dark but she still wakes. Thought it might be OH's alarm going off that disturbs her but even at the weekend (   ) she does it.

I think I would feel loads better if I could actually be up or at least awake before her in the mornings rather than her waking me because then I always feel a bit 'behind' in the day.

No ideas sorry, just sympathy.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Im not listening! La la la laaaa laaaa laaa laa la laaa!

Thanks for the sympathy though, will try a few early nights i think, at this rate i will be going to bed before LO!

Its frustrating isnt it

I fibd myself going to bed at 8pm and then James doesnt feel like sleep then either

Thing is, I should really go to bed as soon as she is asleep but I NEED to have some baby free time to get things done or just to do nothing! At least she is sleeping better though. She used to wake up a million times in the night and still get up at 5am. No photos of me from that period!!

Hi,

How much daytime sleep does she have? For her age she should only need about 3 hours tops. I stopped Austin sleeping so long in the afternoon and this seemed to have helped his night time sleep. Also is she weaning yet? One more thing is what time does she goes down? You might find it useful to wake her and give her a top up before you go to bed at 10pm if she is going down earlier. Not sure if any of that is any use but best of luck anyway and let us know how it goes x x

lol thats babies for you! your lucky that she ever slept longer than 6am!!! its rare let me tell you!! sorry to make things worse but you do know the clocks are changing next month so it will be 5am from the end of next month!!

theres nothing you can do sorry babies will be babies! it will be better when she sleeps through. my son is in bed by 8 and always wakes at half 6ish no matter what. im use to it now and feel fine as i usually crash on the sofa at 9 myself and go to bed at 11ish. btu im sure this "phase" of sleeping through will take another turn for the worse at some stage he use to sleep through from 4month til 6months then it all went wrong again! lol just started sleeping through about a week ago :cheer: (it wont last im sure)

I think it helps also that i have to be up for work by half 6 anyway so its nicer to be woken by my son rahter then my alarm :bored:  (thats what i try and tell myself anyway :shhh: )

How was last night Clarey? Please don't dispair, I'm sure you can crack this. You need to start getting some decent sleep you really do deserve it!

Finlay doesn't get up too early - around 7 or 8

But after his bottle I bath him and he goes back to sleep so maybe try this ;)

Hi guys, thanks for the support....last night was the same but after much getting up to replace dummy/change nappy/rescue her from corner of cot she did go back to sleep after an hour or so until OHs alarm went off at 7.40 so that s a bit better!
My plan tonight is to get OH to give her a bottle of EBM when he goes to bed and do her nappy etc while I get a super early night and hopefully 6 hours relatively uninterrupted sleep which might recharge the batteries for a bit longer! Fingers crossed, am planning on going to bed in an hour or so....

Becs - I would say she has no more than 2 hours in the day in total and goes to bed at 7pm. We are weaning, only about 3 weeks in, should that help as she gets more solids in her do you think?

Sage - thanks for the good news re the clocks changing, I never thought about that lol :wall:

Night night :)
