this is probably nothing to worry about but last night i went to the loo before bed. I had been getting my normal "need a poo" crampy type feeling and quite often i have to "push" a little to get the poo on it's way (sorry tmi!)

i tried for the poo but it wasn't happening, but when i wiped there was some pink watery discharge on the tissue. I wiped again and there was more - just like very pinky water? I checked again and it was definately coming from the front end not my bum!

i lay in bed and worried about it for a bit - then went back to the loo nad there was nothing. Have had a liner on all night and again nothing this morning when i've been to the loo either.

So it literally was about 3 "wipes" and then it dissappeared?

has anyone else had this at all. I'm tempted to ring the midwife just to be on the safe side but it has def stopped now and baby is still wriggling like mad?

I'm not sure hun, but didn't want to read and run. How far on are you now?
I'd say call mw just incase.

If you call let me know what she says.

I'd call just to be reassured, but it could be just that your sensitive inside and with the pushing its made it bleed a little, they say alot of women get something called a cervical erosion which is that the cervix is very sensitive and bleeds a little, after bowel movemnt or sex. but always be on the safe side because pink normally means its blood mixed with liquid.

i had pink staining a couple of weeks ago, I phoned the midwife and they told me to come up and get checked. They did a trace of babys heart, did a scan to see where the placenta was, tested my urine, checked my cervix and took a swab to test for any infection. It happened again 4 days later so had to go back up and ended up getting kept in for observation as it was the second occurance in a week. It turned out to be caused by an infection and was put on a course of antibiotics.

hiya sorry for the delay...

well, i rang them yesterday and normally you leave a message and they get back to you... but i didn't hear from them so tried again but no reply. I didn't want to ring the "labour hotline" as i hadn't had any more bleeding so i went off to bed and thought i'd try again today.

Then about 1am this morning i woke up with bad period pains and backache and after not being able to get back to sleep for a couple of hours i decided to ring the labour hotline afterall... they said to come straight in and be checked.

Got up there about 3am and the midwife was lovely... did all my blood pressure and stuff which was fine and then said because i was 28 weeks and had had this spotting that i needed to have a doctor check me over too.

The doctor came along a bit later (i must be getting old cos she looked like a teenager to me lol!)... she did alot of feeling baby and then used a speculum to look at my cervix which she said was all fine. She did 2 swabs to see if infection might have been the cause for the spotting. The baby has changed position (which she thinks could be causing the pain) and it's head is now over to the left and it's lying straight across my tummy (wierd because i still keep getting low kicks but maybe that's baby's hands or something).

So anyway she said it all looks fine and let me come home at about 530am this morning. She has written "ligament stretch" and to take regular paracetemol for the pains and to ring midwife if pains persist.

Really pleased i went and got it checked. They are so nice up on that ward... they said to just ring again if any questions or concerns.

So ive still got "period" type pains and backache but glad eveything else is ok. Can definately feel that baby has moved a bit though. Managed to get back to sleep for a couple of hours this morning and my little girl has been giving me lots of cuddles and says "mummy why do some people get up and go to the doctors in the middle of the night!" (she stayed home with hubby but had woken up in the night too so ended up in my side of the bed while i went to the hosp!)

so that's about all for now... thanks for checkin up on me x x

Glad to hear all is well!

Its weird because I period type pains last week when I was 27+6 and 28 wks. And they didn't know what it was and its gone now too. Your wee girl sounds sweet :)

Glad you got everything checked out and all is well - always best to get reassurance from a professional xx
