Hi, I was wondering if anyone else has the same problem...
In the last 5 months ive had 3 UTIS and Thrush god only knows. So basically on and off since i've been ttc, which is obviously making ttc alot harder because its painful. I went to the doctors today to get some more anti biotics and he didn't even ask me why i think I have a uti and he didn't check my pee (which i took with me). He was just like yeah here you go and with the thrush did exactly the same.
Has anyone else suffered with this?
Another quick question, will anti biotics or thrush treatment interfere with ttc this month? OV is soon, within the next week according to my period app...

Hi, I get recurring thrush as a symptom of my PCOS. I get it approx every cycle but can get it as often as every 2 weeks (I literally get rid of it and then it comes back). I've had this for 9 years now but have got quite good control over it recently.

Basically, I take a pessary and use the cream as soon as I know I've got it. DH also takes an oral capsule as chances are I've passed it on to him also and then we don't DTD until we know we're both 100% rid (although it would hurt too much for me anyway). Then, I boil all my underwear (I know that sounds crazy) but a nurse told me it's the only way to get rid of the bacteria spores as the washing machine just isn't hot enough. If I do all this I can get rid of thrush for about 6 months which is amazing for me!

Good luck x

Hi PB, I feel for you!

Quite a few anti biotics like you seem to have had can give you recurrent thrush, also if you've had it and still had sex with your hubby you could have given it to him? If he hasn't been treated he'll just be giving you it back. I'd get him some cream from the chemist to treat himself. Often thrush in men isn't as symptomatic as it is with women so they don't know! The pessary for you would probably be best, have you used that? And maybe bin your undies or boil them if it keeps coming back!

As for the UTI, the GP needs to send it away when you've had it a few times as he could be treating it with totally wrong AB's! I get UTI's A LOT, so I really feel for you. What are you on now? xx

The docs given me, Nitrofurantion 50mg capsules 4 times a day with food, for the UTI and Canesten 10% Clotrimazole vaginal cream (Ive never used this one before). Ive used everything else i think for thrush but this time he didnt prescribe the normal cream, i know i can buy it i need to pay for prescriptions anyway, but surely they come together? I usually start burning (tmi) before my period is due, sometimes it comes early or late, but i usually know it coming within the next week because of the burning etc. I'll tell hubby he needs to get treated this time aswell!

Urm, ive been looking online at what my hubby needs to take, and i cant find anything? What do i buy? Tablets, cream or both, and is it just the same as what i would use?

My DH takes a 'Fluconazole' tablet. They're about £3.50 from Asda pharmacy x
