This is the second night that my LO has been really unsettled, he only stops crying when I am stood up and swaying with him. Think it might be wind, any ideas? He is two weeks old, i'm seeing midwife tomorrow
Sounds similar to Harry was towards the end of last week. He wouldn't settle very easily at night
Is he bringing his knees up at all or generally wriggling/ writhing about? If so could be wind. We ended up getting infacol and that seems to be working
He settled at half twelve after screaming for three hours, I was in tears too, I feel so helpless
He was doing exactly what you said becky, legs up to his chest, wriggling and had red face, I think its colic but i'm going to see midwife today I can't have him like that it was awful.
Do you think he's effected by what i'm eating as he's breast fed and i've been eating loads of fruit and veg.
Feel awful if it is causing him wind
A diet high in acidic fruit can affect LO from what I was told by my MW. Try the more alkaline fruits like melon and pears and stay away from citrus. Veg don't have as much acid so that's fine.
Get some infacol and wind regularly. Bertie is bottle fed and I have to wind every ounce otherwise he chucks up everywhere eewwwwww
When I was expressing I was told by my mw to avoid OJ at all costs, which was a bitch cos the iron tablets made me massively constipated. It's so annoying how one says one thing and another mw says something else!
