The baby Cafe is excellent for support they have a midwife, HV's and breastfeeding councilors available on hand to give you help and support. I have found my baby cafe invaluable and also one of the best baby groups I have found, its really friendly and you get a free lunch (well you do at mine) and tea and coffee, plus theres always someone to talk to and to help as well as other mothers who you can chat to. he baby's seem to love it too having lots of fun with the treasure baskets.
Both me and Beanie posted a link to the baby cafe website so just take a look to see if theres on in your local area.
If you don't have one then I would call the NCT helpline and see if you can get a breastfeeding councilor to come to your home.
If you have any trouble getting in contact with anyone then feel free to PM me and I will try and help you further
With regards to whether I think you should give in, I personally wouldnt give in based on the informatio you have been given from other mums who have bottle fed and mums who stopped breastfeeding, but then again Im not the one who is dealing with a crying baby so It probably easy for me to say. I would try and get some help on the breastfeeding side though and see if that helps your situation, then you can reassess how you feel with breastfeeding once you have sought help and see how things go. Breastfeeding problems do tend to sort themselves out sometimes with help quickly and other times not as quick but I hope things start to get easier for you
