Bailey has one of these.. its huge his whole belly button sticks out

when we asked midwife about it, she said dont worry it will go away this was on day 10..

h/v came tuesday and seemed quite concerned about how big it was and said she would see him again in 6 weeks to look at it..

has anyone else's baby had one of these, what will they do to correct it, i hope he doesnt have to have surgery :?

luke had a inguinal hernia when he was 8 weeks old. it suddenly appeared as a lump by his right groin and he screamed in agony they suspected it was strangulated so he had to have surgery to have it repaired.

i believe umbilical hernias do resolve on their own as they are there from birth and when your little ones testicles drop it makes room for the bowel and the organs to re arrange them selves. if it doesn't resolve then it may need attention. does it seem to be bothering him or cause him any pain? hope this helps.
