ultrasound...

HI everyone

after suffering with abdominal and pelvic pain over a number of months, my doc finally refered me to get an ultrasound this friday-tomorrow.

I had my last proper period on 25th oct, but also had a light one on nov 8th.. ive had unprotected sex all month and ive had no show of a period since... ive got a feeling that i am pregnant, i was wondering wether a baby would show up on an ultrasound this quickly?? cheers

Maybe on an internal scan you would be able to see the sac, but not on an external scan, think they show on external scan from around 7 weeks.....but i'm just trying to remember what I read from other girls who've had early scans.........good luck

Your Nov 8th bleed could be implantation bleeding if so then from your LMP (25th Oct) you'd be around 5 weeks pg

Yeah i was thinking that... surely if i mention i could be preggers they may offer me an internal? or is that just wishful thinking? not that i want an internal... i just want to know

I hope you are pregnant, if thats what you want!
I live in Bahrain and had a scan at around 5 weeks (I think maybe 5 weeks 2 days) and although they couldn't see the embryo, they could see clearly the gestational sac which was only 1cm big!!! It was like a black area within the womb, but it would be very clear to the docs if they were giving you an ultrasound, I'd say. I would definitely tell them your suspicions, I don't think an internal would be necessary based on the above?

Because of tummy pain and slight spotting... I had an ultrasound at 6 weeks and 1 day pregnant. I could see the baby quite clearly although it was only 6.1mm long. I could see it's heart beating too.

I think they can detect the baby from about 5/6 weeks by ultrasound. They can do an internal vaginal ultrasound if the baby is not found the other way as I was offered this as an option.

Right... nothing on the scan although the nurse claimed nothing would come up yet anyway...but they did find a dodgy ovary

No period as yet.... the nurse also said because my periods have been 'normal' upto now, its unlikey the ovary was stopping them.... still fingers crossed.... dont know what my bodies upto

Oh god what a nightmare, and how disappointing for you although it may still be a little bubba from what she's said to you? Must be very hard not to know either way. Fingers crossed for you x
