Hi all,

Well, probably not that often you get the man asking for help.

My wife is really down about not being able to conceive, even though it has only been 6 months, so i am just trying to get some help/tips.

My wife is 28 and I am 36, she hasn't been on the pill for about 10 years as it didn't really agree with her so we have always just used other contraception methods. We have been having unprotected sex now for 6 months with no success, which granted, I know is not a long time but she is getting herself really upset about it all.

Would it be worth speaking to a doctor for a bit of reassurance, or would that be something much further down the line?

Any tips or support would really help me out, I hate to see her so upset.

Thank you,

Richard :(

Aw Richard, what a nice bloke :) The fact that you're understanding and sympathetic is brilliant. As your wife is 28 I think you need to wait for a year before going to see your GP but read here, there are plenty of tips about charting cycles etc which will help you out!

i agree its nice that you are being so supportive

have you tried opk's? (ovulation prediction kits) you can buy them cheap from ebay, a lot of girls swear by them

id definately try them - good luck
