Hi All,

I am completely new to this, but thought I’d give it a go as I’m sure I will find some ladies in the same boat as me!

I am 28 and have been TTC with my husband since July 2018. I came off the Pill in May 18, but no baby luck yet!

I feel like I’ve been pretty relaxed up until now, but starting to worry as time goes on. I had regular periods almost instantly from coming off the pill and my periods are regular at 26/27 day cycles! I’m not sure if it’s too early to go to the docs? Anyone else having the same issues and worries as me!!??

Hey Lauren and welcome :)
There are plenty of us on here that will help you through your journey including me :)
I am also 28 and have been TTC since June. I have just started my 8th cycle. I came off the pill at the end of April and still not luck. I am adamant i had a chemical pregnancy in my November cycle and my cycle just gone i had my longest cycle yet of 39 days!!!
Have you introduced anything to your journey like opk's, temping, vitamins etc?

I have just booked a session of reflexology that was recommended to me by a family member. If that doesn't work then i will be booking an appointment with my doctor.

I will be interested to your follow your journey. When will you next be testing? We have a September thread that you can join? The ladies over there are lovely x

Hiya and welcome ...

I’m 28 this year to and ttc with my boyfriend.
My biggest advice would be use ovulation packs to make sure you are trying at the right time! Timing is key ... you can dtd so much but if you miss your window it doesn’t really count.
I’ve been ttc this time around for just one cycle but I feel your frustration. I have had two miscarriages and the 2nd time around it took me 6 months to conceive. Try ovulation for a month or two and then seek advice if you feel you need to

Good luck

Hello, thanks for coming back to me!

Oh you are on the same timings as me then pretty much?! I am due on 18th Jan give or take a day or so!! I have been taking folic acid tablets for over 6 months. I tried the ovulation sticks last month, but didn’t get a positive result as I think I left it too late. I told myself I wouldn’t use them again as I was worried I’d become obsessed, but if you recommend them I’d give them a try! My husband and I went for it this month and had sex every evening for the week, I’m not sure if that’s the right thing to do or not, but I’ve tried some months just every couple of days so thought we would go all out this month!!! I get pains and twinges down in my lower tummy which I was assuming we’re ovulation pains, but when I tested it was negative and to be honest the pains come and go throughout the month. Not sure if I am just over thinking if all?!

I am happy to be added to the September thread, must admit I’m not really sure what I am doing!

Are you TTC your first baby?

Hi April!

Thanks so much for this advice! I did the ovulation tests last month, but felt like I was getting a little obsessed and didn’t get a positive result so confused myself! Will give them another shot next time if I don’t catch this month.

Good luck to you too, sorry to hear about your hard times. Xx

Are you TTC your first baby?

Yes pretty much the same timings :)
Taking folic acid is good, does it have vit d with it too? That is apparently needed now along with the folic acid.
I also take Vit E, that is meant to help the condition of the egg that is released. I then take Evening Primrose Oil along with the above 2 vitamins up until confirmed ovulation. This helps with CM.
Did you use the cheap ovulation sticks? i don't often get a peak on them so have bought the Clear Blue ones where it shows you a smiley if you are ovulating. Its quite pricey but meant to be very accurate and you only have to use them once a day with FMU.
I use to temp but stopped last cycle which i actually regret doing as temps actually confirm ov along with the opks.
Sorry if i have totally thrown to much info at you but want to make sure you are doing all you can. Any questions you do have, ask away. I am totally a book of knowledge now on this TTC malarky!
Yes i am TTC my first hun x

Woweee you really are!!! I tried so hard to relax and not look into it all too much, but now I have turned a little crazy as we want a baby so bad. I have the boots own ovulation sticks, they have a line when positive. They weren’t cheap, but not as expensive as the clear blue. Perhaps I’ll get them next time?? I have read a few things about different vitamins to take, I think I will purchase some more today. Last month when my period came I was so upset, I don’t know how I would feel again if it happens this month. I know we are all in the same boat, but just can’t help but think something is wrong. Can I just ask, as stupid as I may sound... You experienced a chemical pregnancy? What is this!? X

It really is hard to relax when you want something so bad. I tell myself every time i start a new cycle i will be more relaxed and wont obsess so much. But guess what i think i just become worse lol.
I would definitely recommend the Clear Blue ones, if you have the money to spend on them that is. You can get them a bit cheaper from Amazon. If you want the link let me know and i can send it to you with the exact kit that i bought.
Let me know if you need help with vitamins etc, i also recommend a cough medicine called Robitussin (your probably thinking what the hell is this girl talking about) but the ingredient in the medicine is proven to also help with your CM.
I know how you feel hun when AF arrives it hurts so much doesn't it. I have had a few bad months but i took this one pretty well!
You dont sound stupid at all, i never knew what a Chemical was before i joined this forum. It basically means the sperm met the egg and if you test early enough you may get a very faint positive, but then the egg doesn't survive to be able to implant, it can cause for your period to be few days late and you will get pregnancy symptoms.

Have you thought about introducing a fertility lube at all? I use conceive plus and other ladies have used pre-seed. Worth a google if you are interested xx

I will look into this medicine you have mentioned and also the vitamins. Oh and the clear blue ovulation kit... thank you so much for your advice and help!! I suppose we’ve just got to keep on trying. I’ll be following on here now. Will be nice to hear some people who have been TTC for a similar time or longer than us have success stories!! Keeps me positive ha!

Thanks again hun x

Thanks so much

I’ve been ttc for over 2 years now and it started to become ‘not fun’ at around the 8th or 9th month for me... I think we all expect it to happen straight away, so it does worry us when it doesn’t. The docs won’t see you until it’s been 12 months, but my advice would be to try and enjoy it still at this stage and keep your optimism. I’ve read so much about keeping relaxed and as much as I hate it when people tell me that...I wish I had been more relaxed in the first year. It’s completely normal for it to take up to a year (and more!). However, saying that, if you need to vent, vent! I know I’m contradicting myself but I really do think it’s healthy to have a good cry and scream that it’s not fair occasionally.

I also wish I’d have had a better diet in the early days. I think I thought because I’m a good weight, I didn’t need to worry about it. But looking into it, it’s so important to eat well for egg health and sperm health for men. I ate fruit and veg but not nearly enough and I had far too much sugar and processed food...I’ve cut that out of my diet now and drink tons of water.

Feel free to chat and vent in the 6 months or more thread on this forum. The girls are so lovely and supportive in that chat and can help you through the bad days. I hope your ttc journey ends when a bfp soon xx

Hello ☺️
Thanks so much for your post! So helpful. I totally agree and I just need to stop being so uptight and relax a little. It’s still ‘fun’ for us at the moment and I intend on keeping it this way for as long as poss. My husband is really good and totally understands the frustration. He is so ready for a baby too which sometimes I forget, but also feel like I am letting him down!! Silly I know. Can I just ask, do you have ‘normal’ cycles? I know the docs won’t see you until 12 months which is frustrating, but totally understandable.

Thanks again for your post. Wishing you lots of luck x

Yeah my cycles are normal...usually between 26-29 days but I have been known to have between 30-34 days too very occasionally. It’s unexplained infertility for me though, frustratingly! Xx
