Hi all,

Found out about a month ago that i'm expecting my first baby and it was quite a surprise! Really happy though and so have already started looking into car seats/travel systems etc. although there are so many different types that i'm well confused already!

My issue is i have a new Mini which i love and don't want to get rid of if I can manage with it.

Anyone got a mini? Any good tips for travel system/car seat/pram type options that fit in the boot?

Thanks for any advice!

:D

Ive had a look at the Bebe Confort Streety, its suitable from birth and folds really small

take your car to mothercare and practise with the prams you like :D you don't have to actually buy one from there - just say you need to have a think about it

We used to have a mini - actually we had 2 - but the boot is tiny on them!! You will be lucky to get something that will fit comfortably in there. The best thing I can think of would be a quinny zapp, using the maxi-cosi car seat on the frame, as the frame does fold pretty small. It would be fine while your LO is a baby but once a bit bigger, they are a bit useless as the normal seat on them doesnt recline. Not sure of anything else that folds as small as this tbh? Otherwise some umbrella fold type pushchair might fit at an angle but you wont get anything else in the boot! Like someone else said, your best bet would be to go to a baby store like mothercare or kiddicare etc and just try some of them out and see if they fit. If you explain your concerns about fitting it in the boot they will usually help you fold it and try it out in your car. :)

Cant blame you for not wanting to get rid of the mini, I loved ours!! They are great cars and so much fun to drive! :D
Good luck!

I had one, boots tiny!! NO way any of the travel systems I looked at will ever fit in one of those.

As mentioned above, go to Mothercare and try a few out. But your going to be hard pushed to find one im sure, which is a shame, coz the mini is a nice car.

Saything all of this, my car has a sound system in the boot, so the buggy has to go in the back seats and DS in the front with me - Airbag turned off! I have managed like this for 3 months, we just bought a 3rd car tho, for ferrying baby about.

I have a petit star zia which folds really small! its the same as a quinny really altho it reclines so its suitable from birth

I have a Ford KA which also has a teeny boot and lots of travel systems dont fit at all, the best thing is to go and try some out the shops wont mind and if you get a good assistant they will probably know what fits in small cars. Also try the bases every which way, remove the wheels if you can etc.I have to take the seat/carseat and one wheel off to get my Teutonia Spirit in the boot but seem to recall the Quinny Zapp fitting OK and maybe the Britax vigour 3. We wanted someting all-terrain which are generally a bit big anyway though.

we have a KA like clarey said the boot is tiny.

We had a petite star zia and that fitted in with room to spare

heres the link to one
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PETITE-STAR-ZIA-M ... 8797096271

it comes in a few of different colours

the only other thing is like the other ladies have said, goto mothercare an try some out
