My little Harry is very alert but I have no toys or anything to keep him entertained and to help him start learning. I have no idea what things i should be doing with Harry so could anyone tell me what I should be doing with him or is it still to early???

I personally would say it is too early for any toys as such. At this stage baby's best toy is you, they love watching your face. There are these black and white image thigs that are meant to be good for baby but I never bothered with them so not sure how good they are. This link here has some ideas for different stages

Hi, I had a little snail (cloth) tied to the side of his moses basket it played 'Twinkle Twinkle' when sqeezed and he would try and bat it, within a couple of weeks (3 to 4 weeks old) he could hit it right in the centre and make it play. By the time he was 6 weeks he'd grab at it and purposefully make it play.
So I would give your babe something like that- also the black and white or checked stuff is very eye catching for them. xx

We got a little cube thing from Boots. She would reach out for it and was very aware it was there. Then i bought a gym. Just a cheap £10 one from Toys R Us. It was for 3 months+ but by the time she was 8 weeks she was hitting it. She loved it.

i didn't really have anything for connor then - he was alert but not interested in inanimate objects. i used to sing to him all the time though, and he loved that (still does)

:)

I think when Emms was that small, she wasnt interested in doing anything, but I did put a couple of toys on the side of her moses basket and she did look at them a bit.

I think it was more around the 2 month mark that she started to enjoy her mobile and the playmat and bouncy chair with dangly things on it.

We were given lots of toys - she really likes a caterpillar which is a multi-sensory toy from the Early Learning Centre and she like the 'Singing Alfie' toy we were given as well. Anything that plays a tune is good. TBH I dont think that younger than 2 months babs really need any toys, just taking in the environment around them is enough.

Maia was and still is a very alert baby.

From the moment we brought her home when changing her I have always put her into her cot afterwards and turned on her mobile whilst I wash my hands so that was the first thing she was really interested in, she started taking notice of it around 4 weeks, its her favourite toy now and always calms her down when shes upset.
